Let's end the confusion about MJ's unreleased tracks here

I thought Tomboy had a similar vocal melody as the "I bet you remember" from remember the time? How can that be the case if it has no vocals? (Maybe I'm thinking of a different song)

Damien has just heard what was deposited with the US Copyright Office.
Hasn't John Barnes said the song has scratch vocals? Maybe that was the reason for not including them onto the deposited cassette.

Btw, just FTR: according to Damien DD was already in a fully produced state in 1985. No real contribution from Q to the 1987 album version productionwise.

We know Tomboy has vocals, like Smooth said it apparently has a similar melody to Remember The Time.
Perhaps Damien heard an earlier version or instrumental

One thing one can catch on very quickly when seeing threads like this one pop up now and again is that the confusion surrounding MJ’s unreleased tracks will never end. Lol.

This is starting to become hilarious, I swear I heard other sources claim adore you was almost fully recorded, now it is not even in a releasable state. It is exactly what I said in an earlier post. We will never know until we hear it ourselves and even then who knows if some other engineer or so has a more complete version stacked somewhere.
I am starting to believe the Estate more and more when they say not a while lot is left out there.

I wouldn't say someone hearing a version without vocals means there definitely isn't a more complete version existing.

MJ worked on songs for years and who knows when he went back to one and when he didn't.

Regarding 'Adore You', the most reliable source is the American composer Brad Buxer (who was heavily involved in the song's making).

He revealed (in 'The MJCast 100: Brad Buxer Special' Interview) that 'Adore You' was not fully recorded.

He stated that the song was left incomplete because of Michael Jackson's death.

Brad Buxer also revealed that 'Adore You' was going to become a spiritual song, very similar to the 'Will You Be There' song.

In fairness to Damien Shields he said, "the version he heard". That's different to the song not having any lead vocals

You’ve also stated before that “Adore You” was finished (and, if I’m recalling correctly, that it couldn’t be released because it was “lost”). So, this confusion is partially your fault. Hilarious that the direct sources only come out of the woodwork when you’re sharing stuff we’ve already heard though.

@Lotfi11k, it is said that 'Tomboy' is a complete track (from the 'BAD' album sessions).

American guitarist Roger Troutman plays the guitar on the 'Tomboy' song.

Information regarding 'Michael McKellar' is a bit vague.

It appears that 'Michael McKellar' is a song which Michael Jackson kept working on for many years, and it was meant for at least 2 albums ('Dangerous', 'HIStory').

'Crack Kills' is definitely not finished (lyrically and vocally).

According to Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson expressed scepticism about recording and including a rap song on his 'BAD' album.

“Crack Kills” also has a full vocal from MJ.

Do you have information about turning me off and she's not a girl

But MJ in deposition 1993 about tomboy he start dance with his head

Was rather confused by this as Tomboy was previously described as having a vocal melody similar to the "I bet you remember" parts of Remember The Time iirc. Guess it's possible Damien just got played an instrumental. Seems we are getting conflicting info on a few tracks this week. First HFITST and now this lol.

How does Damien have any authority to listen to anything in the vault

All of us can. If you make a request on the US Copyright Office website and pay a fee, you go to their D.C. headquarters and you can listen to anything and everything.
A few months ago some guy on here claimed he was going to do just that. He had a whole list of songs he wanted to listen to. Don’t know if he did go or not…

Interesting! I’ve wanted to go (I’m only a few hours away from DC) but I can’t swing it currently. I’d love to go out.

You are only a few hours away from DC and you presumably know (for a while) about the possibility to hear tons of unheard MJ music for a little fee, yet you still have not attended!? And especially being extra interested in unreleased MJ? How on earth is that even possible... 🙃
Is the fee like 1000+ dollars?

Who knows about song called wiling and waiting
I do, very rough demo, babyface does the verses.

Don't know who your "sources" are, but they're wrong.

I can confirm to you the most complete version of the song, is exactly what Damien is describing, doesn't have any lead vocals, phenomenal instrumental though.

Yeah, if this is possible, why didn't tons of US fans try it out? Go for it and tell us your about your discoveries :)

@AdeZ

What else do you know about unreleased music? Tell us everything 😛
