Now that the song leaked, we must make all of the MJ community be aware of its existence, I see so many people who never knew about the song before hearing it.

I encourage everyone to do Social Media posts, tiktoks and whatnot featuring the song (and Dream Away), add a hashtag too it'll help

If we don't get the attention of the estate they won't do anything

They only changed the logo of Thriller 40 because EVERYONE complained about it

If enough of us complain about not being able to listen to Chicago 1945 and Dream Away on Spotify and other official platforms, the Estate is bound to do something about it...

Yes that what i was thinking about it

I guess we should just tell Brad and Steve to go f themselves and don't even do any more seminars, don't play anymore unreleased songs, demonstrate and tell us Michael stories, play us any videos of him in the studio, walk us through the process of him putting a song together, none of that.

Honestly the criticism of people like Brad and Steve that boiled up recently is so strange to me. Sure they charge for it but they are also going out of their way to do this and give fans an experience. Equating them to the estate who have clearly no respect for MJ or his fans is not something I'm going to get behind.

I have listened aprox 100 times already! On youtube is a remastered version which makes it very nice to listen to. That song and TYLA are by far my most favourite unreleased songs! Who do you know is nice to listen and to have, but it’s not on repeat here. Chicago 1945 is a true golden Gem!

You cannot be serious

So do people actually view Chicago 1945 as finished? I would say it's only about 60% finished: no proper intro and outro yet, the lyrics aren't finished and thus repeated, the music has no consistent narrative and no punch, there is a random verse in the middle ('Chicago, Chicago, Chicago'), conflicting lyrics ('Chicago, I love you!' on a song about missing girls) e.a.

I really, really, really like it for what it is, but as a well crafted, killer pop song (what MJ wanted) it's far from finished imho

The same goes for 'Dream Away' btw: the lenghty lyrics would possibly be used as some sort of fade away/echo; like in all of his other songs. Again, just speculating here lol

Of course I am

As I said, the estate only does something we want when ALL of us tell them to...
Again...u cannot be serious 😒. The Estate doesn't care about us silly Billy! Where is bj 4k, dangerous 25, history 25, hell where is hot street since you think they do things we want?

how?

The intro has the police sirens and everything...
True, but the 'Chicago, Chicago, Chicago.. Chicago' doesn't sound like something that would be in an actual finished MJ song. The sirens, along with some musical build-up (like in Thriller) would make sense to me though

Not nearly as many people complained about those as they did for the T40 logo

im guessing you work for the estate?

It's not finished, at least not by MJ's standards. He was still working on the song up until his death.

Girls please chill out. I think the song sounds oretty complete, I love this sound more than any song that was released after his death. It’s so catchy. Would MJ if he were alive, finnish the song more? Yes, but IMO this song is amazing and ready to be blasted through my speakers!!

For me Chicago 1945 is finished. It is completely fleshed out. Musicians are notorious for working on already finished songs, they always see or hear how things could be altered for better or worse. This is why covers exist because other artists think they can make a song even better.

The lyrics could be compared to Bruce Springsteen’s lyrics for born in the usa, it is a protest song in epic jubilant form. At first glance it is complementary to the USA but it is scathing criticism if you pay attention to the lyrics. Chicago 1945 takes the same approach but less obvious.

I don’t think there will be much debate once we get to hear the high quality version, the song is complete. The repetition of the first verse in the end I would cut out though. I hate when they do that in pop music. In folk or singer songwriter music there are much more lyrics and almost no repetition.

Chicago 1945 is clearly not a finished song. The intro vocals are even off beat lol. I think it could be alot better if worked on further

Gotta disagree with this assessment.

The intro (police sirens, vocal chants, and the abrupt introduction of the music) and outro (a simple fade) are fully realized. Repeating lyrics isn’t an indicator of completion; TWYMMF, LMA, WBSS, TDCAU, Scream, BOTDF, and countless other songs recycle lines throughout. Random ad-libs also don’t mean much; MJ screams “baby” in TJ, a song about media manipulation. I also think it’s difficult to assess the “punch” of a song on a seminar recording.

Not to dismiss your opinion on the track! I just think that it feels and sounds as fleshed out and developed, at least vocally, as any other MJ song.

i remember when the estate 2017 wanted us to know that there wasn't much left in the vault and we are now finding out more and more that this is an outright lie the leaked chicago1945 is a gem where until now you can't understand that it wasn't released and they have a lot more that is useful and can be published

Chicago Nights (as I would call the song) sounds vocally very complete and also the production needs very little polishing to be finished.

I still find the song extremely catchy and I hope The Estate will work with Porcaro to make the final touches and make the song complete and releaseable.
