That's a strong look. We have a saying: "He looks straight into the soul."
It's interesting, the way the brain makes connections. Sometimes we can follow the train of thought and sometimes we just can't.I've been thinking about bugs. Fuseball recently wrote a post and there was a picture of a small green beetle. And it's been haunting me. I guess that's why the beetles came up in my story. That's how inspiration dictated to me, I couldn't resist)))) the photo of the beetle kept popping up in my mind. And I realized! It reminded me quite strongly of a story from my childhood. The truth is that it is a different beetle - Cetonia aurata. It was a much needed memory for me now of someone dear to me. Another coincidence? Or am I going crazy? ))))
Logical connections and emotional connections. Inspiration isn't a logical process, is it? I've read about research on happiness. It turns out there are such)))) and the feeling of happiness there is compared to inspiration. And there were descriptions of what can stimulate inspiration. One was strong emotions are not necessarily positive. But it turns out it works if the brain is already loaded with the right information. And the study had a lot of parallels with Michael's habits and lifestyle. Play, inspiring people, being a child, shutting down his ego and taking in information from the outside. I think Michael was also interested in that. It's interesting, the way the brain makes connections. Sometimes we can follow the train of thought and sometimes we just can't.
Years ago I used to read lots of books on happiness as a science. You inspired me (ha!) to jump online. I found this which is quite interesting. I haven't read the whole article bc it was making me feel quite tired, lol, but this paragraph is good:Logical connections and emotional connections. Inspiration isn't a logical process, is it? Terrific information. This is a new aspect. I didn't know that. It's very interesting. I read Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.Years ago I used to read lots of books on happiness as a science. You inspired me (ha!) to jump online. I found this which is quite interesting. I haven't read the whole article bc it was making me feel quite tired, lol, but this paragraph is good:
"At the end of the day, the ability to broaden attention and the ability to narrow attention are both key contributors to creativity. A recent neuroscience study led by Roger Beaty (and which I was a collaborator on) suggests that creative people have greater connections between two areas of the brain that are typically at odds: the brain network of regions associated with focus and attentional control, and the brain network of regions associated with imagination and spontaneity. Indeed, the entire creative process—not just the moments of deep insight— involves states of euphoria and inspiration as well as states of calm, rational focus. Creative people aren’t characterized by any one of these states alone; they are characterized by their adaptability and their ability to mix seemingly incompatible states of being depending on the task, whether it’s open attention with a focused drive, mindfulness with daydreaming, intuition with rationality, intense rebelliousness with respect for tradition, etc. In other words, creative people have messy minds."

'Flow'. Yes, I read that back in the day. Gretchen Rubin. Sonya Lyubomirsky. Martin Seligman. Can't remember who else. In the end my interest started to drift away. I don't have any desire to revisit those books but your comments about Michael and how / where he fits into all of this, now that IS interesting.Terrific information. This is a new aspect. I didn't know that. It's very interesting. I read Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.
Very thought provoking. And the study had a lot of parallels with Michael's habits and lifestyle. Play, inspiring people, being a child, shutting down his ego and taking in information from the outside. I think Michael was also interested in that.
