Yep. The Greatest Romance Ever Sold. Not my usual thing. At all. Yet gave it a go cause ya no , it's Prince ...You never really know what to expect, or at least I find that. On first listen i loved it immediately. And I couldn't stop playing it. Because I heard ~Craig Mack~ ....Craig \mack influence in a love song ?!! :eek: ~& that's another reason why I 'bond' with the P. Cos of this rap thing he had 😵‍💫~& judging by his previous work he is prolific rapper and he was rapping before i, for one hit this earth. And I am one gutted [late] supporter because Tora Tora was bomb artistry to me. How could i ever had missed that???? any way reposting because TGRES because it So hits the spot, with the questioning lyrics, His eye liner, shadow and lashes , chain , shimmer, the ambience · atmosphere · His aura and intensity and the pretty people. I'm Loving it.

I did not love it though
- I wanna hear the artist sing not the crowd 😃
- i wanna hear full songs not snippets
- and last but not least I don’t like the small talk, I love small talk in between songs but interrupting a song to address the crowd is not done for me lol

PS the greatest romance ever been sold is probably my favorite Prince ballad

I agree with all of this, f&m. I posted the vid for the interview bits but, overall, I wasn't mad keen on it. Didn't like the editing and the points you just made, I had the same objections. I like the video as a piece of the jigsaw puzzle of the story of Prince but that's more or less it.
 
Got Sign of the Times acoming although I'm putting off Dirty Mind? is it ..something like that The front cover of that looks quite cool with the bandanna and i have seen outtakes? or some photos with that bandanna and i asked on You Tube if that was bloody photoshop because to me it looked recent:ROFLMAO: ..🙄 Though, I don't know what to expect. 🤷‍♀️ This guy is a lavish riot lol

I posted a vid of him doing a Dirty Mind song - When You Were Mine. Anyway, I loved it bc it was Prince before he got all faffed about and flouncy with his clothes and hair. He's just a rock musician. Like the after show stuff from the Camden Palace gig. That's Prince how I like him. Just rocking out, not being ... whatever he was by 1984 which didn't particularly interest me. I don't remember paying any attention to Dirty Mind back then. Did I even clock it? Not sure about that. But I'm tempted to explore that one a little bit now.

I love this part of him. The flamboyancy/then the rapper i love it . Never knew it / saw it before .There are many layers there.

With his art, he gave so much that ..:unsure:it becomes physically exhausting and mind draining Maybe because evrything now is just there for people to research / search / remember/ but being a supporter of this one [still early days mind you ] is exhausting..but it is fun because well, what i have learnt so far and believe me , i am trying to learn about this guy ~ that he was very adaptable in his art. There has never been an artist where i have been scared to turn the page to see what is next ~if that makes any sense. Reason being , because.... i find him...actually so unpredictable and i wasn't saying that before i became interested in his work and career ,and what he gave to the people and the music industry. I thought i had him cornered / worked out / but no that is not true at all.

Oh , yeah ! absolutely babe explore~ explore ~explore It's a great thread because although i did sign up for his very nice forum , i find safety in numbers [!] lol appreciating/ discussing/discovering better word [!] him here with other Michael fans. With my family, so to speak .
 
:unsure: i think i will be restudying /observing 'live sexy' and it was called 'live sexy' back then , because i have noticed a few comments on you tube saying the very same, and even if it wasn't so .......i'm still gonna know it as ' Livesexy'
 
There were some very prolific tours happening in 1988. This is 1 of them...that's all i'm saying.

Um, sorry, doll. None of this makes any sense to me. Scared to turn the page? No, he definitely doesn't do that to me. He's just Prince, after all. I don't find any of this exhausting, it's just, I dunno. Normal? Just exploring. Actually, I say that. I'm about ready to take a sabbatical from Mr Purple. I've recently picked up some gospel stuff, some proper rock stuff, photos of him wearing hats and the 9 minute version of that BBC doc that Fuz posted and which I think is way better than the longer version. That's probably enough to be going on with. Although I did wonder about SOTT, the album. I picked up one of the songs just recently, Forever In My Life. Loved it. I know people rave about it as a masterpiece and I do love SOTT the song but I was too lazy / busy to check out the album. But now I'm wondering ... I might take a look ...

Also picked up Still Would Stand All Time. That was quite a moment. 😲

oh gosh, I won't be doing that. Joining any Prince spaces. I have had a look around, when I wanted to get some info. The ones I looked at had really old-fashioned interfaces so I already couldn't be doing with them. Plus a lot of the convos were quite old. But I didn't look very far bc I wasn't looking for anything to join, I just had a couple of questions. I was looking at that Tears In Your Eyes song the other day. There were some right snotty comments about Michael's WATW in there. It was all a bit tedious.

I love this Musicology outfit.

Must admit, I didn't know Prince sold out 7 nights at Wembley in 1988. I read that yesterday, haven't checked to see if it's true. He was hot then so I suppose it could be. That's the same as Michael.

No it was definitely this song. I remember watching the video and thinking it had been a long time since I saw Prince release a single and me liking it. I still do but it is not exactly a ballad imo. It’s like rock with you, something in the middle.
