FYI - George Clinton and Bootsy Collins are both dead important but I can't be arsed to go through their musical history and haven't got time - oh, look! I've missed my bus! - OK, well, I still haven't got time and still dgaf - I really don't, lol - but it's basically the whole Funkadelic/ Parliament thing. Plus James Brown. So there you go!
That said, it's probably worth pointing out that, since you now like Prince quite a lot (a bit?), Sly Stone and also the Parliament/Funkadelic guys were doing what Prince did but doing it years earlier. Musically and sartorially.

I never tire of being amazed at how much the mood of this thread changes. The parade of hats has thinned and there is a new storm of emotions and words. I'm really excited about @wendijane 's appearance with the snowflakes
. Honestly, I found it interesting to see how different people appear with hats in the pics from @Agonum . And the subtle beauty of the hats and from @zinniabooklover had me savoring them. And the unexpected examples of hats from @Fuzball were fun (the shrimp hat was the most memorable).
I noticed that I started paying attention to people wearing hats that I meet. Turns out there are some, though not many. I also thought I might change my knit winter hat to something like these

my rosey pink slippers have gone for burton now i dunno where they went - someone stole the magic footwear least i think they hol some kinda powa i think it was the wee wee guy who cares i have no clue but this is only n all to do with hats isn't it . i feel so out of place , sleeping like that , under a rock , it did not help matters , no not one iota~ got seaweeeed in my drawers

I didn't see any very unusual hats. But it was unusual that a girl put a bowler hat on an official event, it was not usual. I wish I could have asked her about her choice of hat((( I was curious why she did it. And I noticed that some people look so natural in hats. And some people, unfortunately.
