You Gotta Be" is an R&B/soul song by British singer and songwriter Des'ree, written by her with Ashley Ingram, who produced the song. It is the third track on the singer's second album, I Ain't Movin' (1994), and the song is a bit of alright.

When I was a kid I enjoyed pretending being from Russia, and thus named myself… well, I can’t say that, can I? Because you can deduce my real name from it! Basically, I just put ‘-ski’ after my first and last names.
