The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

We basically have most of “Shut Up and Dance” and “Rocker,” yet this song (which we got the first snippet of last month) leaks first. Insane.

Honestly, I love it. I see why Bottrell thinks it’s weird. It’s definitely experimental and probably the most unique Bad outtake we’ve heard thus far. But I’m happy it has a full scratch vocal instead of just a chorus.

Also, two unusable scratch verses and suddenly a FULL BRIDGE AND THIRD VERSE????? This is the anti “Hollywood Tonight.” I’m baffled.
That's what I'm saying...its like the 3rd verse is a seperate take from verse 1 and 2. Which confirms something in my mind.
What this tells me is Michael was gonna finish this. The bridge, chorus, and 3rd verse are developed. Michael was gonna re-record the first 2 verses, but abandoned it before he did.

If there is a thing MJ fans are NOT, with this Estate, it's spoiled. Just for comparison, Beatles fans are about to hear two entire CDs of Beatles outtakes in a couple of days. We MJ fans have to settle for crumbs that are leaked once every couple of years by private collectors.
Indeed, it's a bit like dangling the carrot in front of us... But you never know in what direction the leaks will go. People seem more protective now of their rarities than before.

It was recorded in January 1986 so very early Bad sessions
Scratch vocal recorded October 30th 1986 it says on that leaked picture from Brad’s files (I will try to find it).

That said, I love this track man. It’s so 80’s and that bridge is awesome. It also has the potential to be reworked.

Falls right into when the official sessions started in August 1986. At that time, Michael had two separate camps working on the record - Quincy and the A-team took the lead, and then the B-team working after-hours at Hayvenhurst and occasionally Westlake if they had a free studio room.

Not sure if that date is on Bill's calendar, Matt may have worked on it or was undocumented on Bill's notes... Presuming Quincy wasn't keen on recording to Michael's Hayvenhirst tracks.

Personally, I didn't like the song that much; it feels, I don't know, strange. Still, I'm glad to hear another song from the Bad era, which is always good since it's my favorite era.

I wonder what song will be next. I'm still surprised that "Jane is a Groupie" hasn't leaked on HQ, since it's an instrumental with just a chorus.

Can somebody make a version that fades out much earlier? It doesn't need to go on as a loop for almost 2 minutes.

@Saka21  How would you know how "deep it" is for others, I mean if your not the one feeling anything? 😆
It is also not necessary to try to minimize anyone's comments in conversations to someone else which does not concern you.
The very fact that you quoted me so you could dismiss my feelings directly shows how really deep this is for you.
I expressed myself cleary and I am good with it and now moving on ....🧭

👉Soo let's get back to enjoying this amazing Thread shall we!!

It ain't that deep dawg

Quite a strange track, but the bridge is pretty cool; it’s easy to see why it didn’t make Bad, nor the posthumous albums (even if it does exist in a more complete state).

Unlike most of the Bad sessions material it sounds horribly dated - even something like Loving You has a charm to it’s 80s-ness - and so it’s one instance where a remix might actually improve the song, highlighting the catchy chorus melody without those overbearing synths

Wow! I wasn't expecting it to be such an energetic track. But it's really strange that the bridge and verses 3 and 4 are more complete than verses 1 and 2; as someone said, it sounds like the opposite of "Hollywood Tonight" hahaha. It seems like gets better as it goes on in my opinion: starts out quite rough and ends up more pleasant.
