The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

@arisenow Phoenix a lot time has pass how is it going??? I have a question for you. Have you heard some buz kohan demos, like make a wish, peter pan or happy song???

The production is ten times better than the demo, but I think this sealed the deal for me that I just think the song itself is bad (and “I Love You More” somehow sounds worse).
I don't claim this "I Love You More" slander. Musically it's such an interesting song and when Korg shared the first snippet I was genuinely taken back by how modern it sounded, it's impressive how a rejected writer's demo aged quite well, at least in comparison to the other demo MJ actually went with. "I Love You More" is already more preferable to me than "Shut Up And Dance" even though we've only heard snippets.

Eric Kirkland's vocals on both tracks is another conversation to be had though, I remember Damien mentioning there's a version of "ILYM" sung by a female vocalist so I wonder if it brings any improvement. Are collectors in possession of that?

I quite like the instrumentation of ILYM too, the vocals are…. Let’s just say I’m very interested in the version sung by a woman

Nice intro:

Teddy likes to hear himself talk.
he has a new book to sell, thats why he talks

I think the instrumental is solid, but the lyrics are just embarrassing and, as you said, Eric Kirkland is not a vocalist I’m personally a fan of.

This is a half-truth presented by Teddy, and I don't really know if he even knows that. Rene and Bruce were working on something for the former's Motown album, but they were so impressed with the drum track they created that they gave it to Michael, who then presented it to Teddy. It's possible Teddy just didn't know the origin of what Michael gave to him.

Edit:

Scratch that last part:

Well, 'Jam’ was brought to me as just a drum beat. Rene Moore and Bruce Swedien came up with the idea and gave it to Michael as a beat, so you can't take that credit away from them. But it was just a stripped tune until Michael did his vocals and I came in with the icing. - Teddy Riley

Why is he lying now lol

He's been lying since at least 2010 for no reason, liar and serial plagiarizer. Absolute clown.

Theres a laundry list of him plagiarizing and being lazy (ripping stock sounds and loops) but my personal favorite is when he stole Monster basically 1:1 and got away with it. Even has the rap 😭😭. I'm 99% sure he reused some of the same loop samples too.

This is actually fully the same😭😭
I’ve never heard this

Wasn't this released in 2013? After monster?

He stole Monster for Shine lol.

This reminds me of when was in that battle with Babyface and had to resort to his I Get Lonely remix for songs he's made. Someone else tried to tell me in a YouTube comment section he had "mad street cred" and the most of any MJ producer, especially Bryan lmao

Well, didnt he write his version of monster so he would have the rights? Is it stealing if you steal from yourself?
The core composition is by Porte and Cascio so it doesn't change anything but yeah little bit of it is Teddy ripping off himself lol. The crazy part is he is so successful he doesn't really even need to do stuff like this. Just does it for the love of the game.

Guys just a huge clown idk what else to say
