The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

So these alleged “Buffalo Bill” snippets got posted on a leak forum. The user claims they bought an old computer on eBay and these two files were still on the hard drive, dating to 2019. He’s emphasizing he doesn’t know if they’re real or not, but is still sharing. I definitely don’t think they’re authentic, but it’s still worth sharing.

LMAOOO WTF IS THIS

Consider this lost media. There's basically no chance that the person who has it will release it. I've been trying for years!
I've only seen it once, but the full concert is incredible.
im on about the clip from the 1982 ET broadcast, someone has to have the original broadcast of the 10 seconds in good quality.

The dude who leaked these needs to remove the reverb that makes these snippets sound like they’re being played at church.

Changing topics, realistically, what would be included in a soundtrack album besides the obvious? Im pretty sure its safe to assume Hot Street will be on there, as well as Carousel (again), and some previously released and unreleased demos of the Thriller tracks. Maybe the Baby Be Mine demo will finally be released, and the TGIM demo will also finally have a proper release. They'll probably throw in Nite Line and She's Trouble since it seems like they'll touch on the penultimate Thriller tracklist. If they touch on his work with Freddie, I can see the Freddie demos (including Victory itself) being included. I wouldn't be too surprised if Xscape tracks like Loving You are thrown in there. I also expect the final version of Streetwalker '87 to be on there (unless they butcher the scene and play SW '88 instead...). I see a lot more Thriller stuff being included than Bad stuff, although I can see them throwing some Hayvenhurst tracks like Tomboy, Cheater or Crack Kills. Maybe if they include demos of the Thriller songs, I don't think its impossible that they also put the demos of the Bad tracks

Am I being too optimistic? Im tryin to be realistic while being optimistic

I assume possible hits re-worked as Kirk Franklin was seen revamping MITM. I don't think we're getting a handful of unreleased songs but if we do, that will probably draw people to the soundtrack rather than the movie. Saying Hot Street while ignoring the other unreleased titles on the board doesn't make sense but we'll know in April

I'm expecting something like this :
Greatest Hits from the movie
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough (demo)
Starlight
Liberian Girl (demo)

Throw in Bad from Yokohama
Human Nature / WBSS (at least) from whatever Victory show was in Thriller 40
Something from The Jackson 5 at the Forum

Prince said they were combing through the vault during pre-production, and Bruno Mars collaborator Brody Brown was working on music within the last few years. People will be pessimistic because it’s the estate, but there is pretty good evidence that we’re getting new music at some point, even if it’s only a couple songs.

That said, I do think the soundtrack will be reimagined versions of MJ’s tracks with live and/or unused vocals, similar to Bohemian Rhapsody. At most, one or two demos and/or new songs.

My money is on Hot Street and Streetwalker '87 (Final Version), since those were the closest to making the final albums and are fully completed

Humberto Gatica said recently he's done mixes for the biopic - hits as well as demos.

If that's legit and not some troll, it's just pathetic. Even Bryan Loren got with the times and uploaded his songs to his Myspace after they leaked. When something is on the internet, you're not going to get rid of it. Worst case scenario, you Streisand effect what you were trying to hide.

I'd be less pessimistic if they didnt do stuff like this ALL the time. Remember when John Branca said they were doing Dangerous 30? Or when John Branca said Ghosts 3D was going to have a release? Or when a Sony exec and MP both said there were plans to release singles in 2018? Or the HD Munich release they were even previewing to fans? 😭😭 the list goes on..

But in all tho even if we do get unreleased music put out for this film, im more than certain itll just be stuff we've already had in HQ for many years, not worth hype imo. I am curious if we'll get reimagined versions of classics like you mentioned though that might be cool

^I'd rather have replacement for the executors.
Honestly just Branca. John McClain seems chill and he’s good at reworking the songs.

And TBF, most of that was pre-Leaving Neverland… also HIStory Tour? We really wanted that?
lmfaooo this is hilarious only going for JacksonUnreleased of all people too😭 😭😭
And that’s Poetic Justice actually lol.

poetic justice is a good movie solely bc of janet. 2pac had to get an aids test bc of renee, her then husband, being a jealous weirdo. janet should have done the history tour for mj instead tbh

I think John Singleton debunked that rumor. He said it was actually him [John] that said it as a joke to PAC because they both had a crush on Janet

got a link? it makes renee seem like less of an ass i guess, but its pretty in character for him

edit:

  • The Request: According to a biography of Tupac by Jeff Pearlman, Janet Jackson’s team/management, including her then-partner (and secret husband) René Elizondo Jr., requested that 2Pac take an HIV test.
    • The Reasoning: The request stemmed from concerns about 2Pac's "player" reputation in the early 1990s, when AIDS fears were high. Jackson reportedly told a producer she did not want to "swap saliva" until she was sure he was healthy.
  • 2Pac's Reaction: 2Pac was reportedly insulted and felt singled out, as other actors did not have to take such a test. He initially refused, telling producers to get out of his trailer.
  • The "Joke" or Stunt: Director John Singleton later claimed in a 2017 Drink Champs interview that the request actually started as an "inside joke" or a "publicity stunt" he initiated because both he and 2Pac were competing for attention on set.

In fairness, I think the source is important. If Branca says something, you’re fully justified in questioning/doubting. But since these people were producers and MJ’s son, I definitely take it with more legitimacy. (Also, for what it’s worth, the singles were being worked on in 2018 and were allegedly delayed because of LN, if I’m not mistaken. I buy that, tbh, since it was a Sony exec.)

greatest hits compilation + one or two remastered bonus tracks from most likely the thriller sessions
