"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

looks pretty nice, damn

The new Bob Marley biopic is being slated in the reviews , generic , paint by numbers biopic that offers nothing new etc.

That's the fear I have about this movie but with the amount of scandal involved with Michael it's bound to be a bit different.
Seeing the director they chose I'm afraid this could also be the case for this movie, it could be really bland, but we'll see, Fuqua could surprise us.

Bland and MJ don't fit together. It would be a colossal failure if they do a by the numbers biopic. Yet it is also exactly what I expect while in reality it should be bordering the fantastical genres
The story itself will probably be great but I'm afraid the directing will be underwhelming

Yeah I don't think Fuqua is the greatest director tbh but hopefully he can pull it off.

Well, cramming Michael's life into 2 hours there is no other way than for it to be horrifically rushed and superficial. Regardless of who's working on it.
Yeah. Which is why I’m mostly against biopics. You can do a great biographical film, but doing it well about someone such as Michael is nearly impossible.

Bohemian Rhapsody is an example of that type of mediocrity. The Elvis movie was better, but it still felt rushed, even with the great vision of an auteur such as Baz Luhrmann behind it.

I don’t mean to be negative, but to me this film cannot be great, though I would love to be left surprised by it. The best thing it can be is a decently made, respectful and entertaining film. It won’t be an Oppenheimer or an Amadeus.

wow, so negative whenever there's something to look forward to it gets torn apart

You guys should lower your standards on the potential of this movie. Some seem really pessimistic.

Yes Michaels life wont fit in 2 / 2,5 hours. All they can do is show all the important moments of his life, set some things straight and show the world his artistry and what he stood for.

Just be happy that we get something big and show his legacy

but that appears to be man in the mirror Dangerous tour outfit
It looks like ..dangerous 1991 tour to me, no question. But we will see.

~I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about the possible way they will explore/convey/ re-enact this.

I'm sorry .. i meant 1991 era . Dangerous era. 1991 1992 . 1993 .
