I was surprisingly impressed, it kept me engaged.
I loved how PJ was introduced behind the diamond frame. His back and forth conversation with the host exchanging MJ stories was really good, and his participation with the rope was fun. ( It would've been really nice to have all 3 of MJs kids onstage, but PJ did a fantastic job as always).
I loved the tribute from the MJ musical teams from around the world.
I also loved the interview with the creator of the MJ One show, I didn't realise he had a personal connection with MJ, and it was nice to learn how much of his vision for the show is shaped by what MJ might do.
I wasn't fully sure who the host was, but she also had a personal connection to MJ, and I think all these these personal connections gave it an added sense of care. (Was she wearing the red shirt MJ wore in TII rehearsals?)
I loved that the MJ One performers did a special tribute performance just for MJ too.
And the tribute from the biopic team was the icing on the cake!
Between this celebration and the one in GI, I was really pleased about how MJ was remembered yesterday.
