The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

It Don't Matter to Me sounds amazing. I don't even hate Drake's version (yeah, I'll probably get roasted for that), but I can't wait to hear the original in full.

It sounds good enough to have been on Anka's Duets album, good enough to have been used on Michael instead of those fake ass tracks, and definitely good enough for the Estate to just release in full instead of leaving us with just a chorus.

Whatever the source of the recent leaks are, is the 2008 mix of HT (w/ David Williams guitar) amoung the yet to be leaked tracks? Would love to hear that mix; several seminar attendees have praised it as the ultimate version.
Okay so I was one of the few in attendance for that seminar. Yes it was super funky and sounded really good (much much better than the released version). I feel like MP said it was David Williams guitar on it, but in his ITSWMJ interview, they were looking for a “David Williams sound” during those sessions. Damien himself it was David Williams on there but I feel it could be a misunderstanding. I wish we could ask MP himself for clarity.

Lines up with how the Contemporized Version of Loving You sounds actually.

I actually would love it if some outtakes of the contemporizations would leak. I still want the Mark Ronson version of

WALWTG
Have you heard the „Multiverse Mix“ of „Lovely Way“ ?
It’s a great representation of the song.
And has some of the production/mastering flaws of the official release smoothed out.
It’s a great mix.
And such a great & unique song of MJ‘s!

It's not quite my tempo.

It doesn't have the cinematic strings so it's entirely flat in my estimate.

Well they just gave the tracks to producers to see what they could do to them.

Yeah, that’s kinda what I figured. Keep the real stuff close to chest until they can see what the producers could bring to the table.

I remember this was a coping mechanism I used back when “Breaking News” dropped though. “They probably had Teddy mix with an impersonator’s vocals to ensure the real thing didn’t leak, and they accidentally posted that one. The real MJ vocals will pop up soon.”

For me, it’s just a mediocre composition. The melody is on the mid side and it almost feels like a Disney song in the worst way.
Well I guess it's just novel to me then. Cause I don't know enough Disney songs to really understand that point.

I've listened to quite enough for research purposes and let me tell you...this sounds more like a Queen reject than a Disney song. "Neverland Landing" fits the bill better.
Yeah, or Elton John. Like it's just your average mid 70s tune.

What's also funny... How John Barnes thought Buffalo Bill was great and Bill Bottrell thought Buffalo Bill was silly and awful.
Michael also thought Buffalo Bill could be a hit and he said he was so proud of that one when said that in the interview from 1983 i wonder how did it sound

Where is the "I was the loser" vocals and bg vocals suddenly come from?

Sounded fake this whole time to me

Interestingly, "It Don't Matter to Me" seems to have the same melody as Joe Sample's "X Marks the Spot (Marie Laveau)", which was released in 2002 as part of The Pecan Tree.

Joe Sample had previously worked with Paul Anka, playing keyboards on Anka's 1976 album The Painter, while Bill Schnee, who co-produced "X Marks the Spot", is credited on Anka's 1998 album A Body of Work as an engineer and for mastering a track.

Makes me wonder if it was an old unreleased track that Anka later gave them, or if Anka recreated the backing inspired by Sample's track… or maybe it's just a big coincidence.

Since Teddy played that fake solo version of 'Joy' I am convinced he also just assumed it was the real MJ on those Cascio tracks..
