I'm starting to think they reused the upscaled version from the wrong one and hastily made another one with the original version; the quality varies and decreases significantly in the close-up shots of the pants.
 
doesn’t seem to be updated on apple music, only thing showing up for who is it is the lq visions rip. thumbnail on youtube is definitely from the upscale though

Apple Music has several versions of the same short film, as does Tidal. I can still see a preview of the old 480p video of Thriller.

i know but for who is it, you only get the vision version through search, looking through the music videos section on his profile you get the same one. i found the shot from the thumbnail and looked at em side by side, its not updated yet
 
ig its only available where you’re at, the link you sent says its from Vision, just looked up Vision on my apple music and Who Is It is one of the only films in the collection that says “Official Video” instead of “Michael Jackson’s Vision”, yet the video content is just a shit rip of the Vision video

In the United States, I can only see the Vision DVD version, which is labeled as the "Official Video," and that's not upscaled. I don't see the one you linked, possibly because it's only available in Italy. I saw a quick preview of it, and that doesn't look very good...

Edit: I was able to obtain the new upscale, and it's safe to say that this is worse than the one done for In the Closet.
