I can't understand why people are taking such an interest. Please help me out.

There's one answer missing for me:

"Yes, because I would love to see as many people as possible discovering Michael (again), enjoying his art and maybe also trying to find out who he really is and what he stands for (especially in these times very important)."

Don't care about the numbers in general or how much money they make with the movie. It's more about the feeling and possible influence. Would be great.

I'm totally with you on this :)

LOL at those different "YES" answers!
Imagine being so out of touch with basic social/human values.

I'm wanting this movie to be good and successful because my HEART wants it for MJ, his legacy and the people who are/were important to him (his family/friends/fans).
Put simply: Me as a fan wants something people all over the world to cheer for regarding MJ. A united celebration of the man and his work/art.

This is as close to an answer I'd vote for. Interested to know how many people keeping secrets here vote for any of the first 4 answers though :ROFLMAO:

Whoever voted "I worked on the film as cast/crew", reveal yourself! :ROFLMAO: They're among us, guys! 🤫

To answer your question, R1chard, I discovered Michael Jackson many many years ago when I saw the American Dream miniseries. It was a wonderful experience for me, and since I care about others, it makes me very happy to know that thanks to the biopic, more people will get to experience the wonderful things I felt back then with the American Dream miniseries. The more people get to feel that joy, the better. It's not that I care about them making money, I know they already have more money than they will ever need. But I care about the box office numbers, because they reflect how many people saw the biopic and how many kids will have fun discovering MJ the way I did. I do wish that happiness for them.

Demand influences supply. The better the biopic is received, the higher the demand for Michael Jackson will be, and thus the greater the likelihood of products that might also appeal to long-time fans.

Furthermore, it makes me happy when Michael gets the attention he deserves.

Yup! That’s a big part of it for many of us.👍

I didn't even know about this upcoming biopic untill October of last year.
I don't really care if this biopic is going to do well, even though I'm sure it will.
I don't think I will go to the cinema to go and watch it BUT I do hope that it will bring the new generations to really get to know MICHAEL JACKSON. That after watching the movie people will actually try to get to know his art, his philanthropy, just the great human being that he was.

I *hope* it does well, and it probably will considering how much hype I’ve seen around the movie.

One of the main reasons I'm looking forward to the biopic is that it helps me feel Michael’s presence in my life. I mean, he passed away 17 years ago, but the fact that people are still talking about him and his music is still being released in one way or another - it all helps me feel like he’s still here. Like he’s still living in our world! It’s actually quite amazing and unusual. Back in the 2010s, we had all those posthumous and remix albums - they made me feel like Michael hadn't become dated as an artist and was still living through his music. In 2022, we had Thriller 40, and in 2026-2027, there will be all this hype around the movie. So it turns out that even in the 2020s, Michael is still very much alive in our world. And it feels so good to realize that

Sometimes I put on one of Michael's last songs just to hear his voice. In moments like that, I even forget that he’s actually gone

Well said. This weird passive aggressive poll just made me laugh.
