Not to defend Karen, she is a bit weird at times, but she worked for Michael and I'm sure that she did what Michael requested. She put her input of course but at the end of the day it was Michael that decided how his makeup had to look like.

I can't see that. Just look how he was with his music, everything had to be perfect. I doubt he would let Karen do anything that he didnt like.

Actually, I can see where Michael was coming from. Remember how he said in that 2001 interview that he considered Invincible to be just as wonderful as Thriller? Perhaps what he meant was that every single track on the album had the potential to be a hit and a standalone single.
Was Michael lying? Or were Sony actually that stupid? How could you possibly film a music video for $300,000? That’s literally impossible. You Rock My World cost $6 million. Even Cry, where people were basically just standing around doing almost nothing, took $2 million to make.
Is she talking about the Andre Rau and Albert Watson shoots from 1999? Or did Michael actually take part in some special photo shoot in January 2002? Has anyone confirmed or debunked this info?
Michael was absolutely right. He only had two nose jobs. I’m so tired of people spreading rumors that he changed his nose again in the early 2000s - that’s a myth!
The wigs he chose were not the best imo. They didn't give justice to his appearance.
I used to be as deluded as you about that but taking an MJ break for a few years made me look at it all more objectively again without the obsessive idolization. He clearly had a lot of nose surgeries, his nose changes shape like 4-5 in Thriller era alone. Just putting 2 photos side by side isn't going to do it justice. The slightly increasingly narrowing bridge, the shrinking later dramatically upturned tip, etc. I would say after staying largely the same throughout the 90s a lot of the nose surgeries in the 2000s were for reconstruction, because in the Invincible era you really can see it be dramatically thin but more "normal" looking in later pics.Michael was absolutely right. His nose hadn't changed since 1984. There was really no reason for him to change its shape - it was already perfect.
Michael loved to change his look, but he did it through style, hair and makeup. His plastic surgeries ended way back in 1986.

Not quite. The second surgery was done sometime before the Victory tour. That was the last nose job, Michael didn't change his nose after that.
I suspect the second or third major surgery was before the Bad era in 1984/1985, and only minor ones followed. But I don't know for sure.
So I'm saying that his nose hasn't changed significantly since We Are The World, but only in the details.

Why don't many people believe this? The answer is quite simple - visually, Michael’s nose continued to change due to several factors, which were:
- Vitiligo. After Michael’s skin began to actively lose pigment, his nose essentially started to blend in with his skin, making it look visually smaller.
- Makeup. Unfortunately, Karen Faye constantly used nose contouring on Michael, and it wasn't always successful. Because of this, in some photos, Michael’s nose started to look like Pinocchio's - the sharp tip was purely the result of radical contouring, which minimized the size of the nose from a visual standpoint.
- Lupus and constant procedures also took a toll on Michael’s appearance, including how his nose looked.
And here’s another thing: if he’d actually had all those surgeries, his whole face would be covered in scars! You can’t just keep going under the knife without consequences. Keep in mind, this was the 90s and 2000s - plastic surgery wasn't nearly as advanced as it is now. If Michael had really done everything you think he did, his face would have turned into a total mess. Just look at all those celebrities who overdid it, you can easily find their photos, and they look pretty terrifying. Michael, on the other hand, still looked great even in 2009.
So, once again: Michael’s last nose job was way back in 1984. He didn't have any more after that. I swear, it's the truth. The funniest part is, you can see it for yourself just by sitting down and comparing his photos. I really love this picture. Even if you’ve never heard of Michael, you can clearly see in this shot that the nose in the 1984 photoshoot and the 1999 photoshoot is exactly the same! Zero changes.
I believe there was a major surgery before OTW, Thriller and Bad, and after Bad the angle of the nasal tip was raised, the nose was made a little thinner and damage from previous surgeries, such as holes that had formed, was also repaired.
Yep. I don't know how anyone can say he only had 2......he played with his nose up until his final years.
To be fair, I think it was perfect during the HIStory tour. Something went wrong in 2001, and you can see it must have been rebuilt with possible ear Cartlidge, as it looked much healthier from 2005 onwards. I assume from that MJ may have been self conscious around 2001. I know I would be if I lip suddenly became frozen, and my voice became nasally. Now magnify that being MJ The King Of Pop, the whole world watching, high zoom cameras in your face. I'd probably crumble in drink and drugs too. He was a human X
Michael was a human being who had his flaws. The idea that some fans have that Michael could do no wrong and was some perfect angel is ridiculous.
His nose was perfect the way it was before he had surgery. His black features were stunning and it sucks to know his self esteem was low and people preyed upon that.
