For playlists, however, Spotify is better IMO. It has a great player IMO which makes listening to music, playlists etc very comfortable. I also have it on my mobile so I can always listen to my playlists.

Spotify is my favourite new way of finding out about different music. Because of it there are so many bands I love now, the biggest one being I never realised exactly HOW good Elton John's 70's output was. It's a great service.

Spotify is definitely higher quality than YouTube. Although I usually prefer to buy stuff physically and rip it to flac myself.
