My sister asked me for good documentaries about MJ's biography, especially about his childhood (in English or German). I can't remember any documentary that I could particularly recommend to her, so I'm asking here.

(I used the search function here on the forum, but I didn't find a thread similar to this one with a list of documentaries, if there is another thread like this already, the thread here can be deleted)
 
I still haven't watched the Thriller doc.

I watched some of the Off the Wall doc when it came out, but I got bored because it wasn't so much about the making of the album.
 
Although not a documentary, The Jackson's American Dream movie does cover MJs childhood and is generally considered to be a good representation.
 
"The Legend Continues" is nice and it starts with his career as a child, but off the top of my head I can't really think of any good documentaries that cover all aspects of his childhood. Maybe you could check fanmade youtube documentaries for that.

Agree. The Legend Continues is the ideal entry level starting point.

Agree. I just watched it for the first time over the weekend believe it or not :) I really enjoyed watching it because all the people who were with him at the start of his career were in there. So many heartwarming memories.
