Massive influx of junior members

I have noticed there is an abnormally large contingent of junior members on the board suddenly. They have dubious user names such as "ClintonMcGoldric", "ZeldaCrofts856", "RuebenWolf1536" and so forth. I'd be grateful if a Moderator or an Administrator could explain their origins and if their continued presence will be tolerated.

The Administrators and the Owner (Gaz) are aware of the situation (Gaz receives an e-mail every time there is a new sign-up). It's possible that they are spambots, or spammers. Gaz is investigating how they've managed to slip through the recaptcha and sign-up system.
