Unfortunatly, while there are tons of Irish fans scattered about, very rarley have Irsh fan meetups been as successful as other countires. A group of us way back in 1998/1999 tried to get things going with the Irish fans but we never had more than 10 people ever turning up to fan meet ups. No matter what we tried, year after year, it just seems the Irish fans are just not as intetesred in meeting up. We tried meetups for album launchs, meetups to travel see Michael etc, but it was only ever the same 5 to 10 fans! I know fans even tried to organise a memorial outside HMV grafton street, similar to what we did in London in July but yet again, very few were interested. The Irish just seem to be "quiet" fans, who keep to themselves and are not as open as other nations about being fans!
