The Video Vanguard Award, also known as the Michael Jackson Music Video Award or the Lifetime Achievement Award, is given to musicians who have made a profound effect on the MTV culture.
NO other Artist has had such an impact on the world, culture and MTV, than the King of POP, Michael Jackson.
It was Michael Jackson who changed the music video from a mere promotional tool featuring musicians playing instruments and singing, to a piece of art with a storyline, or as Michael likes to put as 'short films'.
His video Thriller influenced and changed music videos into what it is like today.
It was Michael Jackson , who broke down MTV's color barrier and revolutionized Music Television
Attention MUST be paid to the Legacy of Michael Jackson!

For some reason, MTV made a decision to remove Michael Jackson's name from this award.
This was when,Michael was fighting for his life,in a court of law. He was later, acquitted and the accusations against him were proven FALSE.
It is time for MTV to honor the commitment,they made to Michael Jackson, his children, his family and his fans.
We can not name, one artist that has changed the world of Music Television, more than Michael Jackson
It is time for MTV to "do the right thing" and honor "the King of POP

Yes, I know that it has been posted not so long ago,by the orginal poster & another member of MJJC Legacy Project Team. Thank you for your concern. :)

To get others involved, especially when a project needs further support from fans & public alike. Did you know The MTV MJ Video Vanguard Award wasn't MTV's idea? It was co's Michael was upset Madonna got artist of the decade award, so John Branca suggested an award in Michael's name. Michael liked that, so Branca called up MTV and made it posible. So when an artist receives an MTV MJ Vanguard Award, it's because of Branca's idea.

The American MTV awards are airing August 28th, Michael Jackson's birthday weekend. We think in honor of his birthday and importantly his legacy MTV should reinstate the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award. If you have not signed this petition, PLEASE sign i and pass on the link. Seems like this is only a rumor. Because if we are fair, then we don't even know if Madonna's award was MTV's idea. Some source would be nice.

I agree with you,lucilla
..and rightly so if Michael was upset which I doubt this rumor to be full truth - because Michael Jackson helped launch MTV. He deserved a Video Vanguard Award in his name. :yes:

Read it in Tarraborelli's book. But then it's Tarraborelli too... Who knows what he says is truthful, but let's set it up again!!!
 
I give my permission for this thread to be deleted as this project has ended and the goal was reached. I have all info. that may need to be transferred saved to our LP Room
