Michael talks about singing freely for the first time (I think he’s talking about being able to do his own ad-libs). his general preference for ballads over funky grooves. he even sings a little. I find it funny that he refers to ‘we’re almost there’ as ‘one more step’
this seems to support the comments that Sam Browne, writer of ‘one day in your life’ made about Michael originally wanting to do a whole album of ballads. Browne and the writer of the song ‘Ben’ were to write/produce it. the record label turned it down.
I find this so fascinating. had Michael gotten his way the first time, it would have changed the entire trajectory of his career. the Michael Jackson that we know today would not exist.
