I've posted this story here rather than under 'news' as there is no means of knowing if it true. Is this just 'clever advertising' by a store that wants to sell a £15k rug? Who would the 'members of Jacksons's entourage' be, who might go back to the store and ask for their money back, after nearly 4 years? I understand that there was a team of interior designers working on furnishing the house in Kent...but this was supposed to be for his dressing room at the O2??? Do dressing rooms need 'complementing'?
Any thoughts?

London A rug worth 15000 pounds bought by Michael Jackson three years back was returned to the shop by his entourage who got a full refund of the price.
Members of the 'Beat It' hitmaker's entourage turned up at the posh West London store with the carpet still neatly rolled and unused, reported Sun online.

They said Jackson had personally picked out the lavish 12ft by 9ft silk and wool floor covering after spotting it on the shop website in 2009 and aides had come in to pay for it.

The singer had intended to place it in his dressing room at the O2 Arena for his final concert dates ¿ but died in 2009 before he ever had a chance to use it.

Staff at The Rug Company in exclusive Holland Park were amazed when aides returned with it asking if they could have their money back.

"Michael personally chose the rug so it would complement his concert dressing room. But the tour was scrapped," a Rug Company insider said.

Despite the long time gap staff did give back the money.

"The rug was sold with a lifetime guarantee and as it was unused and in immaculate condition we paid a full refund," the insider added.

The firm, which also supplies Madonna with rugs for her tours, has since put Jackson's back on sale.

Did these "aids" pocket the money?? Where did the money go?? I'll bet you the rug has MJs name attached to it for twice the price.

Waw, so Michael sent some people to buy a rug. Mjnva we have the same questions. Of course it is Michael's money, so who gets to keep the refunded money now? I hope the aides do not keep it. Shouldn't the money go to his estate. Next, where was this rug all the time? Why did it take these people 3 years to realize Michael was not going to have the show at the O2 & therefore, something needed to be done with the rug? Now I understand even more why the estate cannot find the tapes with various concerts on it. It seems items tend to be misplaced.

This is their returns policy: (But I have to say, the 'Military Brocade' Mcqueen pashmina and silk rug in black and gold does look very 'Michael'! No idea if he would have chosen it, but it looks very stylish)

It´s so sad that Michael couldn´t use the rug.

I still want to know who gets the money. We heard about the furniture for the home soon after his death, so at that time why didn't the Rug Aides return the rug then?

Who has been keeping this rug in London the whole time?

Doesn't make any sense.

Did someone just open a cupboard at the 02 and go, "Oh gee, this was Michael's, gotta return it now"?

And then the rug shop goes, "You know what? The world needs to know about this. I'm calling The Sun."

I mean, it may be true, but it's so silly...

I agree it is a silly story and how it would get into the Sun is weird too. I don't get it Michael doesn't have an entourage that could return this rug. How would his past entourage still have possessing of this rug? The story doesn't make sense. This is the SUN. Very unreliable. Just like their full length article about Michael converting to Muslim and the rest of the crap they post. Who would have the authority to that NOW. The refund Money would be Michael's not his aids or entourage. (whoever that may be) Fishy Story

Now that I think of it .. I remember reading this story a few years back, so it isn't recent - Just rehashed to once again use Michael's name for a another Non- story. they are sure to get views just by inserting his name

^^So this story circulates every few years? Reminds me of the comet... I guess editors brainstorm and say "hey it's time for a Michael related nonstory because circulation is dwindling."

I guess they have to change the bit where it says 'bought three years ago' then........
