I thought this would be interesting.
We all know Michael has had made a profound impact on many young people in his career spanning 4 decades, including many musicians to be.This being said, its very surprising to see how broad of a fan base Michael has by looking at the artists who have paid homage to him, be it referencing him in a song, or dedicating a song to him.
I know a few examples of musicians showing their love for him, hopefully this thread can become a gathering for all musical references to him.
JUSTICE is an electronic music duo from france who are a really big deal right now.
One of their really huge debut songs is this song called D.A.N.C.E ( i love this group and ive loved this song ever since i first heard it )and i just recently found out that the song is actually a tribute to Michael.It references many of his songs.
" You are such a P.Y.T", "Working day and Night..","ABCS and 123s" also," Black or white".
And lyrics such as ," the way you move is a mysterryyyy"
Even though many of you might not listen to indie dance music, this track is worth listening to for the michaelism.The fact that they are an awesome group is such a compliment to MJ, for me.
Also the Rheostatics have a song called ,"Fan Letter to Michael Jackson", which is similar to MJ's own" Dear Michael" lol, except its not coming from him.Wonder if the band ever heard that track and if they would have wrote it if they had already know about Dear Michael.
Also the Mitchell brothers have a song, called Michael Jackson rapping about how they wish they could dance like him and stuff.
