Hi everyone,
I'm a new member here, but I've been a long time fan of Michael's. I
just recently discovered this forum and have been astounded by the
sheer volume of topics and the diversity of the discussions, I've never
seen anything like it before! I'm so glad I've found such a wonderful
place to share my love of MJ with fellow fans, it's so great to be
among people who have the same respect and admiration for Mike, a lot
of people just don't understand the way he makes me feel!
I first fell in love with Mike when I was a child during the Thriller
era, he was my first crush and I never got over it! Anyone who
experienced that era knows what a special time it was, I remember
waiting up for the premiere of the Thriller video with all my friends
and the excitement and anticipation we all felt, it was all anyone
could talk about the next day, and after that every new Michael Jackson
video was considered a major event . The Making of Thriller video was
the first tape we bought when my family got their first VCR.
I have so many fond memories from that period, we used to see Mike's
red Beat It jacket in the window of every store we passed and I would
beg my mother to buy it for me, unfortunately we could never afford it.
Seeing Captain EO at Epcot Center in Disney World in 1989 was the highlight of
my entire life up to that point. I grew up with Mike and he's always
been a huge part of my life through the years. When I lost my husband
to cancer a couple years ago, Mike's music helped me find the strength
to carry on when I was at my lowest point, now that he's gone too, it
feels like I have nothing left, it's like a big piece of me died with
him. I can't imagine a world without him, it just feels so weird, like
something is missing. Michael was my hero and my inspiration, I truly believe he was an angel sent to help mankind. It's too personal to go into here, but he was like a guardian angel to me and saved my life many times when I was ready to give up. I hope talking to you kind people on this MB will help me get through this, your support will be greatly appreciated and I look forward to chatting about all things Michael with you. Let's
continue to spread the word of Mike and honor him, ignore the negative
haters!
