The podcast One Song just devoted a whole episode to Michael Jackson's song Thriller... and it's really fun to listen to. I especially liked the fact that the two hosts talked for 70 minutes about the song and how it was made, and never ever mentioned anything related to allegations or whatsoever. It made me happy it could be all about the music.

It's a nice podcast anyway... every episode they break down one song from the pop music canon that you know - or need to know.

This episode has plenty of admiration for Michael – you will enjoy it!

Find it here on Apple Podcasts.

Thanks for posting it here @83magic !
you’re welcome 🙂I now realise that it was @Skylover who posted it before me in the ‘thriller 40th anniversary’ thread.

I watched it all. I really appreciate the fact that it was clean. I’m always thankful for positive ‘thriller’ era content. however, I didn’t learn anything new.

I’m glad they credited the ‘stories in the room’ podcast (which hasn’t been active in awhile), because a lot of their information and material came from there.

I actually think that michael contributed a decent amount to the song, aside from singing it amazingly💜 he did the werewolf howls, the falling star effect during the intro, and it was he and quincy jones’ idea to change the song’s overall concept into something more darker, like a horror.

my favourite part was hearing michael’s vocal stems. his performance on that song is underrated in general. I wish they spent more time on that.

they said they might do another episode dedicated to michael. I hope they cover more of my favourite songs.

Me neither... I just enjoyed the positive vibe, and I realized this is an episode in a podcast series followed by hordes of people who aren't Michael Jackson fans, and for them this story about Thriller must be even more amazing.

And Michael was the one who came up with the idea of doing a short film for the song which is a big reason why it became so popular and beloved still to this day.
