Great video from Chris Liepe going through the Multitracks of Scream. Who knew that there were samples of The Knowledge & In the Closet buried in the mix. Jimmy Jam mentioned on his Questlove Supreme episode that MJ had asked them to do something similar to The Knowledge, so wonder if that had something to do with it.

It's great to hear everything split out like this - just hearing the beat with those samples sounds amazing, also great to hear the keys isolated for the 'solo' and that Janet's 'F..ing with me' is there throughout the track!

This is actually amazing knowledge.

Also this guy does great work with MJ multitrack. A great demonstration of free use.

Holy shit that's the short sample I mentioned in the 'Musical Parallels thread': it's also in Remember The Time, Blood On The Dancefloor and Ghosts!
(At 09:11)

This guy does great videos.

I remember John Cameron touched on this in one of his musicology episodes, I think it was a Janet one talking about Scream. I think the Janet song Runaway samples Remember The Time as well. The da da da adlibs at the end of RTT are the foundation for Runaway

Now we have a video with the isolated Who Is It vocals (only the lead vocal track) :)

Those vocals at 14:46 - 15:13
Really cool to get to hear that. Did you hear the faint ad libs at the very end? Those sounds incredible!

Yeah I was wondering about those adlibs as well. I think its the same ones that you can hear in the mix below from 5:15

Holy bicini, it is indeed those very same ad libs! Thanks for showing me this – those vocals are on fire!

I gather this to mean that the multitracks must somehow be out there?

One of the comments from that Chris Liepe video mentioned that some collectors have the multitracks but that they're not widely available.

That Zecon mix is really good, it was posted about 3 years ago, so the multitracks have been out there for a while - it would be amazing to get them!
