Ralph Tresvant's eponymous album of the same name released in 1990. Included on the track listing (Of the CD Edition) was a song by the title of "Alright Now", with a writing credit by none other than John Barnes and Michael Jackson.

What's the backstory of the song? Does a demo recording of the track exist? Why did it not end up on a studio album by MJ? Any information would be appreciated.

Written in 1983 by Michael and John Barnes.

"Alright Now was recorded by Ralph Tresvant. It is even older than Make or Break." - John Barnes

"Yes. I did it with him." - John Barnes on if Michael recorded a demo

As far as it not going on an album, I don't think any of his albums had a place for it. It could've made Victory by removing Be Not Always

A demo has been confirmed to exist.

Never made a studio album because the song is weaker than other songs that made final tracklists.

I'd love to hear it but with this Estate, don't count on it.
