A very special Motown release of 2 live concerts of the J5. One from their debut tour in 1970 and one from 1972 both at the legendary Forum venue. Unfortunately it is not a dvd release but the audio is fantastic imo.
Michael carried these shows on his frail shoulder's it is beyond remarkable. Vocally he is spot on especially in the 1970 concert, these performances bring so much energy to the songs and they beat most of the album tracks. Live everything is so much more exciting. Apparently they were sometimes not able to finish concerts as crazy teens invaded the podium, some of that wild energy and noise is captured by these recordings. The 1972 concert has more straining in the vocals which is not unusual for a child in development but it is not a hinderance really, he just gives his all, all soul and passion, f****** lovely to hear!
What I also appreciate is that both concerts have vastly different setlist showcasing many of the early hits but also cover songs and some album tracks. Picking just a few highlights is doing it a disservice as I love every single performance.
For what it is worth as far as live albums go this is one of the very best releases you can find.

It is amazing how a bunch of kids and teens were able to perform at this level singing, dancing and playing fully live. All we need is footage to make it perfect and legendary.
Also judging from the screams Jermaine gets when he starts a song it is clear he was also very popular back then.
