Hello,

there's a four minute long live video I created some time ago. It does mostly feature "This is it" footage, but it is processed at most parts and from different songs. The sound mostly isn't even from "This is it". It was supposed to give an idea how it could have been like to see Michael live again on July 13th.

Anyway, I thought about uploading it to Youtube and post the link here for other fans to enjoy. However, I'm quite anxious about cr infringements which I certainly do not intend. Can anyone estimate if such a four minute upload stream could p*** anybody of... or does the estate, Sony or whoever most possibly tolerate this?

Thank you...

It depends on the songs and the footage, TII footage is used in many vids and allowed from what i can see. some songs are allowed on youtube they just place adds and or iTunes links to purchase them, Or they may just place a link back tot he channel the songs come from. Some songs are blocked in some countries and some songs are not allowed at all and if thats the case the video will be removed and a strike goes against your YT account. (3 strikes and they suspend yoru channel. )

I Have no idea about why or what would piss any one off though. The copyrights are usually taken care of automatically if your content matches content identity files already uploaded to match them too. . The CR holder already has instructions attached to those files such as, ignore place adds links , remove etc.

Thank you. I could live with consequences like video being removed or getting a warning... because then I would HAVE been warned.

I'm just afraid I could get a "cease-and-desist letter" - which can cost hundreds or maybe even close to a thousand euros.

As far as I know, it's common in the UK to first get a warning (please don't quote me on this). However in Germany, when e.g. having even accidentially violated copyrights (like having a copyrighted picture on a website), you can get such a costful letter at once.

Thus my question... anybody have more info whether it's likely something like that could happen because of such a video on youtube?

No - Youtube will just remove the video if it is infringment - you have 3 chances on youtube so your account will not be deleted and you will you be charged. I know german copyright laws are the most strick. Neary everything I upload is blocked in germany. I and many other upload vids to facebook or vimeo for our german friends to watch. If you do decide to upload, let us know if they allow it, delete it or just block it in some countries. It will state that on your video info in Video manager.
