It was discussed that this photo isn't real but just by chance does anyone think the signature is real since the photo came out way back in the 90s

At least, Michael Bush autographs looked real lol. Maybe it's real, but it looks strange.
 
As far as I remember this photo montage was done by Christophe Boulmé, who did a lot works like this for the Black & White magazine and later the official HIStory magazin. He also did the design for the Ghosts movie poster etc. It's fake, but sort of an official fake. :D

Btw, someone should make a website that collects / displays real MJ signatures from the different decades (properly done ones and quickly done ones etc), so it's easier to identify fakes.

Can't find the original MJ photo at the moment. it's from the same photoshoot of the "Will you be there" single-cover.

I think it's a mish mash of Will You Be There single cover and the head taken from the Man In The Mirror single cover (hair/curls changed slightly).

Yup, but Christophe used 2 pics of Michael and merged them. The face is from the Bad era (Man In The Mirror single cover) and the body from the Will You Be There photo shoot.
