User notes?

I did a board search but couldn't find a thread on this so here's my question: what exactly is a 'user note'? I noticed when I checked my profile today that I have 1 usernote but I can't view it. Can anyone help me out and explain what it is and what it's for?

I think it's just so staff can log things about your account i.e. Gold Membership, Badges etc. or things like that.
