I’m asking because, while Larry made public appearances with Michael, on his show, he still interviewed Michael’s friends (e.g. Macaulay Culkin) or associates (e.g. Tom Mesereau) about if Michael was innocent. I mean, Larry was doing his job as an interviewer - it is kinda conflicting if he asks Michael’s friends/ associates/ family about Michael’s innocence, then appears in public with him as if he was a true, supporting friend.

But at least Larry didn’t become like Oprah and ran shows about sexual abuse victims?

You already said it: he was an interviewer. He wouldn't do his work right if he didn't ask uncomfortable questions

He gave them an opportunity to defend Michael's innocence, so it was a good thing, wasn't it?

I don't think Larry King was a close friend of his, not the way Elizabeth Taylor or Macaulay Culkin were. He heard some evidence that Michael was framed by the Arvizos, so he wanted to testify in his defense and that was very nice of him.
