I’m assuming this has probably been asked but I’m still curious.

A conspiracy theory that fans and some family members believe is that Michael’s death was a set up first degree murder. The motives are usually that some powerful people are either afraid of him or want to buy his catalogue.

A lot of fans and people like LaToya and Paris believe this. And Michael himself during his final years was known for getting increasingly terrified about people trying to kill him.

Is there any merit or evidence to this theory that supports it or is this just cope for a grieving family and fans (or in Michael’s case, him becoming delusionally paranoid)?

No. He died due to incompetence from a Doctor that should have known better and Michael's own ability to not request the said medication. While Dr Murray was negligent he was put into a position at Michael's request and even if he declined. Michael would have found someone else and the result would be the same. Michael rolled the dice and lost and it wasn't the first time he gambled.

MJ wasn't part of the secret society and had too much power on his own so I believe yes. They first started with the molestation accusations to ruin his reputation and ended up with murder. That's what I believe

Frankly, we'll never know. Before the trial, I used to think it was an accident. When I watched the trial, the things the doctor did were so suspicious that it made me question if it was truly possible for a doctor to be that incompetent. It raised a lot of questions regarding Murray's intentions, but we will unfortunately probably never know the answers. It could be an accident or it could be that someone who had knowledge of Michael's use of propofol used it to commit murder and make it look like an accident. Beside the fact that Murray waited so long to call 911 and didn't perform CPR correctly despite being a cardiologist, the most suspicious thing to me is Murray's complete lack of remorse and the hateful things he said about Michael after his death. This is not normal behavior after you accidentally killed someone.

It does not make sense that AEG Live or Sony Music wanted to kill him given the fact that he was about to perform for them and thus bringing a lot of money to them.

One has to be very sceptical about La Toya Jackson's statements.

For example, she also stated at one point (in 1993) that Michael Jackson did not have Vitiligo.

Dr. Conrad Murray was hired by AEG Live, not by Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson at that time was not allowed to take decisions regarding his life and career.

Michael Jackson should have had 2 doctors to work in shifts beside him.

In that case, one doctor can rest, while the other doctor monitors the patient (and vice versa).

Just like that, I have to agree with your points.

Michael's death was preventable. Michael is also responsible. He made mistakes and trusted the wrong people – which can be debated. At times he was savvy but other times down right stupid and immature.

No.

Michael was unwell and had been battling mental health issues and addiction for decades.

The extreme pressure of fame and allegations all contributed to his deteriorating mental state throughout the years.

This was a man who willingly sought out doctors who would do whatever he wanted and even going against what their medical profession advises. If the doctor said no, he would get another.

What happened on the 25th of June was a tragic accident. 100% neglect on Murray's part but it wasn't done on purpose.

Michael knew the risks , he had been playing with fire for years and taking chances. Unfortunately his luck ran out.

the person he was stupid to trust was literally a doctor 🙃

Michael wanted propofol, he'd had it plenty of times previously.

An anesthetic that should only be used during surgery in hospital.

If someone is actively seeking this out as a sleep aid , surely the person who wants it also has a responsibility?

Michael was wrong for wanting this. Murray was wrong for agreeing to something that was extremely dangerous in a home setting.

Both at fault. The statement that Michael was playing Russian roulette with his life is so true.

He was so desperate for propofol to the point where he was willing to risk it all. If the local drug user down the street had told him he could fix him up. I have no doubt Michael would have said yes.

He wanted propofol, which was the tool to help him sleep. But Dr. Murray did administer way too much which lead to Michael going into cardiac arrest which led to his passing.
LaToya strongly believes he was murdered and I think Janet does too, I'm not sure about the other siblings such as Jermaine or Tito.
Conrad Murray was charged for homicide but had only faced time behind bars for just under 2 years.

Doctor's gave him propofol in 1997. He never requested or asked for it. What was the reason then? To help a man sleep by giving him anaesthetic for the fun of it?

Those doctors, in Germany, are even more culpable than Murray truthfully.

There's plenty of other testimony.

Although called as a witness by AEG Live, Lee attacked their lawyers’ contention that Jackson was “doctor shopping” for drugs. “All he was doing was looking for the best doctor to help with his insomnia,” Lee said. “It just breaks my heart for people to label someone as doctor shopping when they’re only trying to find the best doctor to give them the best care.”

Jackson hired Lee to find natural treatments for his insomnia, she said. She began treating Jackson in his Los Angeles home on February 1, 2009, days after he signed a three-year contract with AEG Live for a world tour, which would start with 50 shows in London to debut in July.

“My concern was that he was drinking Red Bulls,” she said. He drank several cans of the energy drink during their first meeting. “I was thinking his tiredness and fatigue was related to that.”

“He told me whatever you tell me I need to do, I will do it.” He stopped drinking cases of Red Bull, replacing the energy drinks with fresh organic juices, she said.

Jackson “started to feel really great” and “looked healthier” after a month of her IV treatments “Myers Cocktails,” an infusion of Vitamin C and other nutrients, she testified.

But he still couldn’t sleep more than five hours a night and with rehearsals for his “This Is It” tour cranking up in April “he needed something a little more,” she testified.

Jackson rejected her recommendation that he have a sleep specialist visit his home to study his insomnia or that he cut down the lights and music in his bedroom, she said.

Yes he was and I'm working on a book about it. It will be available some time next year and it will be free.

I've always thought that those who say that MJ was murdered are in complete denial and simply looking for a reason to make them feel better.

Considering the crazy life he had, it's a miracle he even made it to 50. His life was absolute bonkers.

It was the greatest show on earth, but came at a massive price. The fame, pressure , allegations and impact on his mental health.

It's not a surprise that he was open to trying extreme methods to help him cope.

The lifestyle he was living, it would have caught up with him eventually, I think it was inevitable sadly.

Not at all. Of course his lifestyle was a factor but there were other things at play and the timing of when certain things happened and people involved are very very suspicious. They used his lifestyle to their advantage.

Let's forget for a second that we are talking about Michael Jackson... If there are recordings of someone saying that people want to murder him, even dropping names and motives, when that person is suddenly found dead in suspicious circumstances and the people he named all gained a lot from his death, it's normal to at least investigate.

Unfortunately paranoia is a powerful thing. Michael had severe mental health issues due to everything he went through in his life.

He was not in a good place mentally and had not been for quite some time. It's not uncommon for people with paranoia to believe people are out to get them.

Michael was obviously a huge target, but I'm not convinced it was anything other than an accident that happened.

My mother was sent to a funny farm cause she thought the people upstairs were spying on her... just saying.

It's not paranoia if you have been receiving death threats since you were a child and if you are surrounded by people who are involved with the mafia. It's not paranoia if there are strangers who get inside your house and hide in your closet for 3 days. Is it paranoia when Michael couldn't even get access to his own bank accounts?

It's not paranoia if the man you were terrified of does this on the day you die, even after you fired him:

After returning from the hospital with the children and her mother to Katherine's home, they received a troubling call from the Jackson mansion. It was Michael's long-term assistant Michael Amin, a devout Muslim known as Brother Michael.
He told La Toya that her brother's Lebanese-born, self-appointed business manager Dr Tohme Tohme had fired all the staff at the Beverly Hills property and at a second rented home in Las Vegas. "I want to know how Michael died, and then, at 11pm on the day he dies, all the staff are fired? she asks rhetorically. That raised my suspicions."

When she arrived at the house with her manager and close friend Jeffre Phillips, new security guards were in place.

Anecdotes can be used for anything dude. My uncle died of cancer, but he kept working the entire time. He wasn't worried about dying because he was preoccupied with living. That's how most of us are, not sitting around worrying about our health. MJ was not losing his mind, just his peace of mind. And for good reason.

Yes i think that.
Illuminati, Conrad, or another person or group killed him.
Rip.

I wish I could've just smoked a few good blunts with him. He would've definitely been slp
