What did MJ do to the heels of his loafers?

I’ve bought 2 pairs of loafers the Comos and the Berkeley’s (both loafers MJ had worn on Tour) and I was wondering what MJ did to the heels of his loafers to make them slick for his sliding moves, and how I can do the same thing? Mine come with a rubber heel and if I try to moonwalk I just like trip because the rubber grips me down.

Don't know the answer. I know Michael used to score the heels and / or soles of his loafers so he wouldn't slip dangerously when he was dancing. And we know from Michael Bush that Michael did not like his loafers to be polished, at least not right before a performance.

I know this is asking sort of the opposite question but there might be something in this thread.
