Aww... why are they doing this. I have to get that bluray player :(

can blur ray dvds be played on a nomal dvd player. probably stupid question by why not arent they jsut dvds in better quality?

whats that?

normal dvds are between 4.7 and 7 gig in size, a blu ray is 25-50 gig in size, something like that..

I have understood that you can't play bluray's in dvd player but you can play dvd's in bluray player.. so.. you would have to buy a bluray player if you want to have the extras on the bluray disc.

Yea but they could make the normal DVD two discs and put a load of the extra stuff on there.

It's just a con to make us buy blu-ray.

At the very least they could put the best features (ie. unfinished rehearsals) on the normal DVD, rather than the making of, which is probably just a load of interviews with Ortega and Phillips mixed with clips that are already in the film.

Yes we must buy a blu ray player ... But is this info sure ? i also see the sound is 5.1 , not PCM or 2 channel sound ???
It says official press release, but I don't know.. why couldn't they just put the same extras on 2 dvd's? :(

There is going to be a 2 disc collector's edition in the UK so maybe we will get the unfinished rehearsals on that.

If we don't I'm going to be really annoyed!

guess if it comes to it u will have to do the naughty and download the missing xtras

Usually bonus features on a dvd are the same as on the blu-ray. It doesn't make sense that they would be different, nor fair to those who don't own a blu-ray player or PS3.

You guys should be trying to shoot for the Blu-Ray version regardless.

Why would you want to watch Michael in any less possible format. They shot most of TII in High Definition. Buying a DVD of TII, the picture quality is going to be knocked down to standard definition. Then with TII being 2 hours in length, that's going to take up the entire DVD disc right there which will leave no room for any bonus video, or uncut clips being added.

I knew from the start since seeing TII in theatres that I would get the BR version. Pre-ordered it the next day.
I don't have a BR player yet, but the day Sony ships TII I will go out and get a BR player, most likely a Pioneer or Samsung brand.

I will load the the blu ray bonus footage as DVD from internet
and buy the DVD collectors edition

i am not stupid and buy an blu ray player for one disc!!!

release will be Februar!

Most sensible consumers aren't buying Blu-Ray at all, because they realise that the moment it becomes the mainstream it will be immediately replaced with something else and they'll all have to upgrade again.

thats the same with anything though. things always get upgraded when the next big things comes along

If everyone in the world thought like this we would still be living in caves and throwing spears at each other!

Haha!

Thats exactly right though, you have to move on with the times. Theres usually quite a gap between two things.

DVD started in about 1997 until HD DVD came out around 2006. Thats a good 9 year gap.

Its not like youd be buying blu ray and then immediately something else would come out.

Bluray! HD Picture and lossless sound PURE BLISS!!

To hear Michael like this, i cannot wait, pity it took Sony so long to produce anything in HD , and pity it is after he has passed.!
