Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned [Confirmed: Auction is stopped]

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned

Apparently someone called the auction house yesterday

The auction house said that they had spoken to attorneys on the sellers side that said--- they were within their legal rights to sell the documents.
what a shame this whole situation is..Michael deserves so much better than this. It's just a shame that people continue to make money off of him even in death. I swear I hope this auction is stopped somehow. I hope the Estate figures out a way to shut this whole thing down. :(

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned

I just want to know who is selling these records for profit. I don't think a Dr can sell a patients personal medical records. There has to be some Hippa law against that. Now Hoefflin once stated he had a letter of permission form Michael to release his records if it could help him. I not sure I believe that but even so that doesn't mean he is given permission to sell them. The Dr cant profit from selling a patients personal records. That has to be against the law. I just read that only a deceased persons beneficiary or Estate can request their medical records .. Someone had to give whoever is selling it permission to do it if what these attorneys are saying is true . Now I'm wondering if there is any family involvement in this being they are so mute about it. Also Dr Klein's name is on one of the documents could he have possession some how. Maybe records were transfered to him when he was treating Michael. There are just so many what Ifs .. I just so hurt and pissed off that this can be happening. I know the Estate will do all they can but this is just mind boggling to think this can be legal ..

Now another thought I had is that this is very important. Even though I don't think an auction is appropriate. These documents are Important for MJ history and legacy for his life story to show how he suffered. I don't think anyone not even us realized the extent of his burns or suffering. The date on that last procedure where they open his scalp was done a year after he was burned and he had further procedures to help repair his scalp after that. I just cant fathom the pain he went through. Maybe it is good for people to know what he went through ... I don't know .. I'm just pondering... Trying to find something postive for Michael to come from this. But to auction this personal record of his great suffereing to the highest bidder for profit is despicable. Im just So sad

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned

Someone on another site said they think this is coming from Howard Mann, who purchased the storage unit full of stuff from Vaccaro, and that this was Michael's copy of his records that ended up at the storage unit after the settlement with Pepsi. For what he went through, 1.5 M was not enough.

We have a list of the items from that storage and it doesn't list any medical records. Furthermore in 2006 Janet Jackson's medical records about her nose operation was turned to her. Vaccaro didn't stop chatting about all the stuff he had there ranging from underwear, hand written note to Dee Dee, Janet's nose surgery to dildos. I think if he had any medical records of Michael that would have been public knowledge a lot earlier as he probably couldn't stop talking about it.

MARCH 23--Michael Jackson is looking to stop a New Jersey man from selling items such as "personal financial documents, medical records (some of which bear Jackson's social security number), private contracts and personal photographs," according to a lawsuit filed yesterday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. Henry Vaccaro, who obtained the memorabilia as a result of an old bankruptcy case involving members of the Jackson family, offers up a variety of collectibles for the MJ fan who just can't live without some personal King of Pop swag. Jackson is seeking to shut down two pay-per-view web sites maintained by Vaccaro, a 63-year-old contractor. The sites display a variety of items once owned by the singer, including his Blue Cross card, fan letters, and even something described by Vaccaro as "Michael's strange note." Jackson wants millions in damages from Vaccaro, who claims to have recently sold his Jackson booty to a foreign buyer. (11 pages)

This is from The Smoking Gun. It says "medical records."

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned

Maybe they are within their rights, but what's the point in selling and buying those records?
What are they gonna do with them?
I just don't get it.

People collect all sort of odd things and are ready to pay for them.
It wasn't long ago when somebody bought John Lennon's toilet bowl (I wonder where it is displayed, has to be one big display cabinet), also Marilyn Monroe's chest x-ray photos went to auction and now MJ's medical records.

tbh i doubt they would say anything else regardless in the hope the estate doesnt bother going after them.

Interesting but we never heard any medical records from Vaccaro - at least as far as I know. Janet Jackson medical records / social security number is quite known - http://www.legalmetric.com/cases/copyright/cacd/cacd_204cv01987.html

Furthermore Vaccaro / Mann has lost a lawsuit against MJ Estate. Do you really think that they would go against them ?

Who knows? It's an awful thing to do anyway.

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned

WTF!! I am sick and tired of logging on Here/Facebook/Twitter and seeing another sickening story about someone making money off of our dear Michael in these awful ways!

LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!

:boohoo:

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned

They have a contact page:

https://pristineauction.com/default/index/contact/

Write them, call them, shame them, ask them to remove this item! We have to support the estate in this. We managed to stop the mock autopsy, maybe this will work too.

The Executors of Michael’s Estate were shocked to learn of the attempt to sell Michael’s medical records. Immediately upon the information being brought to their attention, the Estate’s lawyers were directed to send an appropriate letter to the auction house and are taking all steps possible to ensure that these private records remain private.

Presumably, if all else fails, the Estate will buy them..... (Hope they don't need to, though).

Thank You SO much for posting this...Hopefully the Estate can STOP this damn train wreck!! I don't think they would have to buy them either seeing as it IS about MJ and the medical records ARE about Michael...idk...guess we will have to wait and see.

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned [Update Msg from MJ Estate]

After this is stopped, I hope some medical board goes after the doctors responsible for this. If they could go after Klien, then they need to go after Hoff too. Imagine, we are dead and our medical documents are displayed all over the internet for people to gaze at for entertainment. Further, the proceeds of the sale, would not go to our loved ones who are left behind grieving over our demise.

Even that claim about Lupus does not help, because the trial and documents show what Michael died of and didn't that report ^^ state that he died of "prescription" drugs? Therefore, we can't even say that the lupus information will help Michael, because people will continue to print and say what they want to keep the "Michael lie" alive. I see he is still called bizarre.

Notice how happy and joyful the announcer who advertises this auction sounds--almost as though he is promoting or advertising some happy event that no one should miss. Now that is bizarre!!!!

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned [Update Msg from MJ Estate]

How is this possible? MEdical records are private!! Its normally difficult to get them yourself late alone a stranger. Why is the estate not buying it back?

About the photos:
Question: I looked at the links of Ivy, jakkes.. :( Its more bad then previous picture. What i dont get on the photo of 4: did he get stitches???? the wound looks that way??

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned [Update Msg from MJ Estate]

Imgelief. The estate just sent a message above saying they will do ALL they can.
who said they were buying ot not buying? we dont know what they need to do yet
but they are on the case with their attorneys.

The last pictures were a year after MJ was burnt they reopened his scalp to stich it closer together to minimise the bald spot
He has several reconstructive surgeries. That beauiful man suffered so much :(

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned [Update Msg from MJ Estate]

I really appreciate it when the estate responds when the fans especially express concern or let them know about things. I really hope it gets stopped.

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned [Update Msg from MJ Estate]

As much as I appreciate the estate's effort and involvement in this, it will be quite foolish if they buy it back. IMO no matter what your intention is, whoever(include the estate and fans) buying it is the shame. cause by doing so, they are supporting and legitimating such despicable and unethical behaviours and reward the leech what he/she wants $$$. Believe me if the estate buy this, there will be one after another. It will open the can of worms and only make things worse in long term. From reading this thread, most people in here seemingly already seen this medical record that not suppose to be seen. once it put on the Internet, everyone can see it and everyone is invading Michael's privacy. This medical record is no longer private. So what's the point for the estate to buy it back? Send the signal to other leeches that they can put Michael's medical records on auctions and Michael Jackson estate would pay big money and buy them back?
Right now the best the estate could do is to try to stop it and condemn such bizarre auction. If they can't stop it, at least they make the stand. No one should buy this. If it didn't sell, those sick money hungers would know selling other's privacy has no market.

I don't think Estate will buy it. As they said the lawyers are involved. That means first a cease and desist and if that doesn't work going to a court and asking for an emergency ruling to stop the auction.

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned [Update Msg from MJ Estate]

^^Yes let lawyers handle it. Here again money has to be spent to defend Michael even after he is dead. No wonder the estate legal expense is high.

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned [Update Msg from MJ Estate]

Glad to see the estate is trying to stop this auction. I guess MJ's siblings are too busy with other things to do, than trying to stop Michael's private medical records spread all over the internet. A few words from family to papers might have helped to stop this auction, but as it doesn't serve any purpose to them, they are quiet.

too late. the estate is too late. the whole world allready have seen it. and nothing can change that. buying destroying. nothing.
the world allready saw and knows everything.

Re: Michael's medical records from 1984 Pepsi Burn is being auctioned [Update Msg from MJ Estate]

Well, that's a relief. Glad to see that some kind of action is being taken to put an end to this
gross invasion of privacy. Yes, the records have been seen by many, but at least the selling
of the documents will hopefully be ceased.

Yes you are correct. His personal records have already been compromised and made public.
All the estate can do now is have the video removed, the display of documents removed from
their site and stop the sale. Hopefully they can also somehow take possession.

I still want to know WHO ? is behind this.
