You sure????? cuz i dont remember that.....i gotta go tio my dad's place to watch my thriller vhs

I googled it & didn't find nothing about that company! It looks like it's a space they forgot to put
It's been checked by some other folks and although it sounds weird, it's the name of the company it seems. I googled it myself and couldn't find anything either, but if some other people could find, well, I'm believing them until they're proven wrong.

I saw a newspaper clipping recently that claimed that a full-length video for “Beat It” (a la “Thriller”) was filmed and went unreleased. Having rewatched the “Beat It” segment, specifically the following unreleased scenes, I now firmly believe it, as I can’t imagine anywhere where clips this comparatively calm would go.

Which thus begins my new campaign:
#ReleaseTheMJCut

One of the dancers said that it was it more pop locking as well. But we only see that one guy vibrating. They cut out alot of things but a full length? I doubt it. But it does look that way. I never understood the director looking out the window scene but now it's starting to make sense. I just can't understand why michael or nobody else has mentioned this 🤔

Unlike other Estate's, their goal is to think about the commercial success of a product, a song, a show, a documentary. That is also why I don't think there will be more posthumous albums, There's a lot of stuff that is releasable but doesn't meet their exaggerated standards.
Who other than the hardcore fans have seen this documentary?

Why have they made this documentary available only on Showtime (pay tv) & MTV (cable tv) and not on CBS where it could have been seen by millions of causual non-fans, too?

Jeez...MJ stans are harder to please than the Star Wars ones. I thought the doc was fine. If they covered every little thing about the album, like breakdowns of every track worked on like ya'll want, this thing would have been like 4 hours long. The average person isn't trying to sit through all of that, so this was a good piece on the impact of the album for the masses. The hardcore fans already have plenty of books, articles and interviews available for every nut and bolt used to make the album
It should have been 4 hours at least! We’re not talking about some little album that came out and did decent numbers unexpectedly. We’re talking about the single BIGGEST selling album of all time by the biggest celebrity to ever walk the planet. It kind of deserves more than a half assed 1hr and 29 minute documentary that can’t talk about anything other than Thriller, Beat It and Billie Jean whilst ignoring a large chunk of information and skipping other tracks.

It's just mind boggling to me that Quincy Jones is still alive and yet they couldn't agree to get him on this. Is Quincy senile? Otherwise, why so much greed. Ugh.

Bad 25 was 2 hours long and did every track, just a reminder.
Eh… did it?

They spoke about “Another Part of Me” for 20 seconds (most of which was Chris Brown chatting about how the percussion is cool), showed a live performance, then moved on. If I recall correctly, they also rushed through “Speed Demon,” “Liberian Girl,” and “Dirty Diana.”

Setting aside the fact that he and the estate are almost certainly still on bad terms, he’s kind of become an asshole in his old age. He goes out of his way to dismiss MJ’s talent and contributions whenever he can. I think a lot of it is because (1) the only reason he has any contemporary relevance is because of MJ, and (2) people are slowly beginning to recognize that he wasn’t the only intelligent musical mind at play.

Of course his involvement would’ve been nice, but he would’ve been ornery and grumpy the entire time. We’re better off.

I'm sorry but I get the feedback, the Estate was like "Here already, just take it". The doc is virtually the same with none of the feedback they were "considering" after the screening. Bad 25 had a good running time and covered every song, that's no excuse. I know a lot of Estate projects get feedback maybe in your opinion which might be too much but this is really one project where they barely put any effort. The feedback is justified, in my opinion, this isn't a thing of struggling to please. The footage was great and some of the information was good for the doc, it really was. First, the Estate has to get out of that mindset that things will sell based on the MJ name, which is true but it doesn't mean to do the bare minimum and not put some work into projects. The editing was a mess and they way some segments were placed was a mess. Second, is this a Tiktok doc or a Thriller doc? I might be mistaken but the general public already knows about the numbers MJ does on Tiktok. Cutting footage for Polo G also is crazy enough. And it's not even the fact that he might not be relevant in a couple years, it's the fact that Polo G is on another era aka the Bad album, with Smooth Criminal. He had nothing to do with Thriller? I get showing the mainstream effect but a whole segment on Tiktok and it's stars? Yes, hardcode fans has lots of information on the sessions and etc.. But that doesn't mean they can't go into that?

When doing a documentary for the masses, it's also best to include a bit more of everything of the era. The masses barely know about the sessions or the recording process. I'm not saying include everything from the sessions but include some of it. Also, introduce the people doing backup on the songs and working on the album. I know friends who didn't know the background on the 3 singers neither did they on Greg or Matt. They didn't show Vincent Price which i mean is like cmon? And they showed Bruce like one time during the whole documentary? It's sad cause I know these people have a lot to share and I am sure they did but stuff was cut. How long will collaborators have left to get out these stories and insight into the recording process? I'm glad they featured Anthony Marinelli in this documentary, since his shorts and video about the sessions were amazing online. Is it that hard to make a proper doc? I mean, demo phase of the album, recording process & mixing, submission, promotion & making short films and the aftermath/mainstream effect? I'm not even going to get into the whole titles and credits errors lol. If you are a casual, maybe it works for you. If you are looking to the unseen footage, this is most likely for you. But it's just the whole representing it.... I think the Estate's target is most likely the younger generation but then again you have to throw something in for the hardcore community. Make it balanced. I'm also sure there are young musicians (maybe in little numbers? but) who look up to MJ and love the albums. They might want to learn a bit more about the process. It isn't about half-assing or doing the bare minimum, at the end of the day, this is the Michael Jackson legacy we are talking about.

Side projects and musicals are good but they also have to focus on the albums as well & give it proper care..

I didn't realize this 'til later, but there are two important parts of the Thriller saga that weren't mentioned at all:

1.) The original, terrible mix of the album that caused Michael to panic and almost not release the album at all. Quincy calmed him down, and they re-mixed one song a day until they got the final product.

2.) The Jehovah Witness' pressuring Michael due to the Thriller short film. Branca has mentioned in the past that MJ wanted him to burn the negatives before convincing him to put the disclaimer at the start of the video. It's ironic he didn't tell that story for this doc.

Both would have been dramatic angles for the final product. Even the trailers could have put in some dramatic line about "the album/video almost never saw the light of day". It's just odd that those stories were not included.

Removing all the unnecessary talking heads. Tiktok and BTS stuff would have probably made room for stuff like this.

I think Quincy said his daughters gave him an intervention a few years ago about all the stuff he was saying and that he was sorry.

I still think it could be a risk for the estate to invite him back and then having him say a bunch of negative stuff, though

This is a good point.

Is this true?
