Adele

She's very good. So refreshing to hear something like her when most of today's music is.. what it is..

I've just heard Someone Like You. Amazing!

her 2nd album have been topping charts both us & uk....though her songs in us are not that popular. Kudos to Adele

"I love seeing Lady Gaga's boobs and bum ... I love seeing Katy Perry's boobs and bum. Love it. But that's not what my music is about. I don't make music for eyes. I make music for ears.." ~ Adele....... awesome!!! Win.

rolling in the deep is a KILLER track! haven't heard her other stuff but i dig that track!

worked at a concert of hers last thursday. she has a great voice but some of the songs were abit same ole. the show lasted and hour 30 but i was getting abit bored after a while even though i like her. i guess her style doesnt allow her to be really diverse with the songs she sings.so the songs need to be really standouts which some were. but alot werent

I really like Rolling in the Deep. However, I think that she kind of over-sings through most of her songs, and I just can't listen to her for too long without getting annoyed. Does anyone else think that?

She's definitely talented, though, and she seems like a cool person.

Set fire to the rain, amazing! I'm thinking of buying her album.

Actually Set fire to the rain is the first song where I got annoyed when her voice gets 'rough' for a moment when she sings "but I set fire to the rain, watched it pour as I touched your face". That part annoys me but otherwise the song is gorgeous!

^^I actually like it when she does that in the song lol Gives it some attitude.
I don't think she oversings really. Oversinging to me is more like making overly long complicated notes that aren't needed or things like that. She never seems to do that.
She has a lot of power and volume in her voice though but I think she uses it to convey her emotions in the songs.
I don't mind it at all. To me that's part of her soulfull delivery. But that's just me :)

Btw just wanted to post this video. This is from a show last April. She sings the song beautifully and nearing the end she starts to cry.
So touching to see.

Also she has so far sold 6 million copies of "21" worldwide and is still top 3 (or even 1) in many countries.
I can't believe the succes she is having, just crazy.

I'd like it if she did it few times during the song but every time at that point, it just gets annoying to me. To each their own :)

Thanks for the video, beautiful.

The stories I've been hearing about her over the past couple months suggest that she has been giving up opportunities to spend time with friends and family. Also heard one suggesting that she was learning a thing or two about tax just as many other British stars have had to learn the hard way how high tax is. I hope those stories aren't true. When you have this kind of success, it's not a good idea to take it for granted. You don't know how long it will last.

My favourite song of hers so far is Rolling in the Deep. They seemed to have stopped playing that one recently.

I can't believe I haven't posted yet, I've recently began to adore Adele, her album 21 is definitely the best I've come across in a while, I'm happy she has got the success she is having at the moment. It's not very usual to see a singer like her these days.

My favourite song of hers is Someone Like You :)

I heard she had to cancel all her shows in the next month or so because of problems with her voice. Hopefully she'll get back soon :)

edit: ok I exaggerated little :p Here's from her site:

"Adele has been forced to cancel the remaining 9 dates of her sold-out North American tour due to ongoing illness. Adele recently postponed 5 shows under doctor’s orders when she was diagnosed with laryngitis. While resting in Los Angeles, Adele met with an Otolaryngology specialist who determined it was imperative that she take the next few weeks to recover with absolute voice rest.
Adele, renowned for her powerful live vocal performances, was intent on resuming her tour on June 4th in San Francisco, CA before learning of her advanced condition.
“I’m really frustrated. I was hoping with a weeks rest I’d be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors advice and rest some more. I’m so sorry. See you soon, love Adele”
Plans to reschedule these cancelled tour dates are being investigated; more information will be provided when available."

Sad. :( I hope she recovers soon.

Adele's 21 have been killin' the charts these past 6months just Wow! I think its 2011 Best album by far

You won't be disappointed, it's a great album! I would love to see Adele live someday, couldn't make it this time though.

Adele Has The Number One Digital Album Of All Time

This technically happened last Thursday, but according to Nielsen Soundscan, Adele has the number one digital album of all time, selling more than 1.017 million, good enough to crush Eminem's 1.005 million sales of Recovery.

Her sophomore album also has the top spot for the most sales of physical copies with 2.6 million sold.

But Slim Shady still has much to be happy for as his latest album was the number one album sold in 2010 with over four million copies sold in the country and over six million worldwide.

^^^ I hope not....true & raw talent are so rare nowadays....just too bad if its wasted ( like Amy, feel sorry for her, just pure talent)

I don't believe she will end up like duffy or Amy Whinehouse.
Main reason for that, her first album was already a big succes on it's own, this is her second album that just blew up even more. (remember she already won 2 grammies with her "19'' album)
She already had a core fanbase, it just exploded this year.

Also she herself is aware this is a once in a lifetime thing with how this album is selling. She has talked about this in a recent interview. (I forgot the name of the magazine right now though) She knows this momentum won't last forever and is just enjoying what is happening around her eventhough she can't really believe it.
She is very down to earth/ level headed and is just enjoying this ride it seems.
Amy whinehouse for instance, as talented as she is, seemed like she couldn't handle the sudden fame the way Adele is doing right now.

To me it seems people were just dying for a singer who sings from the heart without all the gimmicks and who just delivers quality music since (mainstream)radio seemed to be boycotting that. Her album and music stands out through all the other stuff and happens to appeal to young and old. Not to mention she is very talented and doesn't sell sex which nowadays with her age is almost expected.
Hopefully this will open the door for others. There are a lot of other talented artists who don't take that expected route who are underexposed as we speak.

But hasn't she said in some interview that she thinks she will die young? I've understood she's very stressed by all the media hype she's getting at the moment (who wouldn't, though)

Here, I found something:

Adele worries that stress will be the end of her.

The Rolling In The Deep star says she is easily panicked - especially when it comes to performing - so is convinced she'll die young.

Explaining why she feels that way, Adele said: "Oh my God, I'm crippled by fear. I have awful stage fright.

"I don't know what possesses me to do it. I think I'm going to die young from having so much stress all the time."

The 23-year-old also revealed that she moved back in with her mum, after an attempt to live by herself didn't exactly go to plan...

"After my first record I moved out of my mum's and moved to Notting Hill on my own. My life fell apart," shared the Someone Like you singer.

"My phone got cut off, my credit card got cut off, the house was a mess. It was awful. I couldn't function without my mum so I moved back in with her.

"I'd rather be defeated than one day come in and the rats would be eating me. My mum and I don't live in a tiny place. It's a big apartment, she can be at one end and me at the other."

Adele is going on her biggest UK tour yet in September and tickets are available now.

Wow! She should focus on her career.

You were right, I love it. All the songs are soo beautiful! Someone Like You is still my favourite though.

I'd love to see her live, too. Would be amazing for sure.

Someone Like You is my favourite from the album too, it was a huge hit here in the UK, it's a very beautiful song :D
