Dr. Treacy is such a wonderful person. I wish he could have been able to keep treating Michael instead of Conrat, maybe our angel would still be here.

Beautiful! I wish there were more stories like this readily available. If I didn't read about it here I would never know. Thank you!

That's true. I wonder if this story is in any African newspapers? The US has many ethnic newspapers & it would be good if the Liberians and other African nationals here know what Michael fans are doing to help people in that region.

Re: Grand opening of Everland Liberian Orphanage built with funds donated by MJ Fans [Video Added]

^^^I meant his fans are global and not all MJ fans are on forums so they wouldn't know about this so that is unfortunate.

I believe it would be covered by media outlets in Liberia (Treacy was being interviewed by a local gentleman) and the Irish outlet that covered Treacy. It would be nice to see it covered in other international outlets but, I know there is no purpose for those outlets to cover it.

Thanks to Dr. Treacy we have an updated photo of Everland. Since our team left just over a month ago all the windows and doors have been framed, the building received it's first coat of paint, and the small road leading from the main road has been established.

NEW YEAR, NEW NEWS! Doors and window bars added - Still needs finish work _ It's coming along Nicely :)

A progress update will be coming soon, but for now, here's a brand new picture of Everland. Those who contributed to doors and windows will see that the doors are now in place. Those who contributed to the paint will see that the first coat has been painted so beautifully. In fact, we are told that the sheet metal doors and window bars too, have been in place for the last four days. The building is fast becoming a home!

Opening of Everland Children's Home in Liberia

Listen for Liberia 2013 raises the roof for Everland

Our second 'Listen for Liberia' event held in January was once again a huge success, raising over £300 for an essential wall for Everland Children's Home in Monrovia.

As the late American poet and educator Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, so wisely opined, “Music is the universal language of mankind.” Through profound musical meters, nationalities are united: for feelings know no international boundaries, no linguistic divides. The emotions certain chords conjure are felt by all, regardless of context or circumstance.

In this unifying spirit, on the 29th of January 2013, an array of local Maidenhead musicians gathered together for Listen for Liberia II (a repeat of last year’s charitable endeavour) at The Vine pub in Maidenhead, UK, in a bid to raise funds for an essential wall and gate for Everland Children’s Home in Liberia.

The event was made possible, in part, by the tireless efforts of MJL’s Treasurer and Trustee, Tori Tompkins, who not only organised the event, but participated through singing several of her favourite songs, too. Amy Cross, a prominent promotions figure on the local music scene, was also instrumental in the events’ success this year, having tirelessly spread word of the upcoming gig far and wide: upon social networking sites and within Maidenhead’s local music community. Amy also took many of the photos which appear below.

Supremely gifted guitarist and singer, Damian Delahunty, offered the free use of his amplifying equipment during the evening, whilst simultaneously hosting the musical portions of the night and inviting acts onstage to play. The evening saw wonderful performances by many talented local musicians including Mark Crofts, The Skin and Blister Band, Damian Delahunty, Stu Moir, Ian Gudgeon, Johnny Seaman and Steve Sculpher.

As if the musical portions of the evening weren't enough, a charity mini shop was also set up in one corner of the pub complete with handmade African items, (hair bands, earrings and cutlery,) which were available for purchase. Tori also contributed some of her recent sketches, (several of Michael Jackson, Charlie Chaplin and Bob Dylan,) whilst her father, a retired professional wedding photographer, donated some beautiful framed nature photos.

Additionally, the landlords of the Vine pub, (husband and wife Danny and Mary and their son, Danny,) organised a simultaneous race evening. DVDs of horse races were played on a mounted screen and bets were placed, allowing individuals to enjoy all the virtual thrills of a day at the races. Meanwhile, Tori’s mum Suzanne, put together a luxury raffle prize complete with Thorntons and Hawaiian chocolates, bubbly, CDs and much more which was available to win on the night. Quite incredibly, in a small pub with a limited number of people, Suzanne managed to sell in excess of 170 out of 250 raffle tickets! What an extraordinary sales woman! As Alan Sugar, (or Donald Trump in the US) would say: “You’re hired.”

In uniting together through song, musicians on the evening managed to raise an incredible £336.12! Each and every individual performed with passion, love and honesty, holding in their hearts a sincere and selfless appreciation of the musical medium. Through the egalitarian language of melody, they spoke of a better future for the children of Liberia, and, for us all.

Facebook Update

It's 'Wall Wednesday' again, dear friends! And just L@@K at how it's filling up so beautifully. Big thanks to Mimi for creating this picture and for inspiring us each week by putting the names of donors throughout the week onto the 'wall'. Every person listed on this virtual wall has given towards a very real wall that will surround Everland and protect the children. Funding is over one-third completed already. Thank you all!

What’s Next At Everland?

Here’s the latest news on the progress being made on ‘Everland,’ the children’s home built in Liberia, funded by Michael’s fans throughout the entire world.

Currently, the building is just over a third complete and funds have been raised to construct a necessary protective wall and gate, which will surround Everland, to keep burglars out and keep the children safe inside. You can always follow the progress at the Michael Jackson Legacy website.

So many fans have already given to ensure the success of this latest stage of the venture, and each person giving towards the real wall has their name placed on a virtual wall on the Michael Jackson Legacy’s Facebook Page, every Wednesday. This virtual wall, painted by the talented artist Mimi, is filling up with names very quickly. It’s likely that the real wall will be funded by Michael’s birthday this year and as an added incentive, the highest donor towards Everland as a whole, will have their name engraved on a brick in the wall.

53780_441594142585968_1267621854_o.jpg

Having already raised enough money for the generator and furnishings, once the wall is built, Everland will be ready to take in children from the surrounding slum communities.

Michael’s legacy will soon be at work in the poorest parts of this forgotten and war-torn country, thanks to people like you.

Everland has now been fully Funded.

ONE man's legacy, TWO acres of land, and 283 fans from 31 different countries - we did it, dear friends! Thanks to YOU, not only has the building of Everland Liberia been fully funded, but the protective wall, the generator and all the furnishings too! Some gave what little they had. Others gave in massive amounts. Many gave again and again with determination and a passion to make this ground breaking project a reality. Some of you, with us from the beginning, gave in trust before even one brick had been placed. All of you are truly appreciated more than you will ever know. Michael is surely smiling amidst all the confusion and heartache of late. This would have been a dream come true for him. It's certainly a dream come true for us, his faithful. Today is a special day indeed. The highest named donor by far is formidable Valerie S from the US, who will have a brick engraved with a name of her choice as a small token of gratitude for having contributed well over £2000. The second highest donor is precious Cynthia K, also from the US, the third highest is beautiful Sonnie from Germany, followed by faithful Davina in Canada, and then angel Anne-Marie in Sweden. These and many others gave again and again to ensure Everland's success. Please bear with us over the next days as we update the website, the progress page, form a newsletter and do all the necessary tasks required.

In the meantime, watch this space for details of the next exciting project. Michael's work never ends. Thank you for being such an incredible part of it. His legacy lives on and will continue to shine brightly in the lives of Liberian children because of each of you who gave so graciously. We are eternally grateful, and he will be eternally remembered in the lives of every child whose life will surely be changed by Everland Liberia, HIStory in the making. God bless you all.

Everland Haiti Children's Home Update: October 23rd, 2013

Many thanks and much love and gratitude to Everland Haiti's second highest donor overall. You rock, Davina M from Canada! Your latest kind donation will go towards the double roofing. An abundance of thanks and gratitude to those who have given towards this incredible project in dear Michael's memory. Just look at how they are progressing out in Haiti! Maman Bishop, overseer of the project, says: ""Praise God. Hope you will be happy with our work. I know MJ would be." We are still in need of donations to complete the funding for the roof and finishing (stage 5). Please, if you have not already given, consider making a donation of whatever you can afford via Paypal to: hello@michaeljacksonslegacy.org. Many thanks to long term donor Christine W from Sweden for doing just that! Thank you for your ongoing support, dear Christine.

Top ten donors so far:
(1) Heidi, USA,
(2) Davina, Canada,
(3) Sonnie, Germany,
(4) Cynthia, USA,
(5) Anne-Marie, Sweden,
(6) Manu, Austria,
(7) Teodora, Bulgaria,
(8) Birgit, Germany,
(9) Door, Netherlands, and
(10) Katherine, France.

HAITI UPDATE:The foundations are finished. All who donated to stages 1 and 2 - your generosity has been put to good use! Tomorrow, the plumber will be at work. Next Friday, the electrician will start working. By next Saturday, they will have finished with the blocs! They then have to smooth them out with cement which will take a few days. The floor is a part of that stage too, but it has to be done last. They will then put the ceramics in the toilet before starting on the roof. After the roof comes the hardest part - the finishing. We are faithfully informed that if all goes well, they will be finished by 20th December! Just in time for Christmas! However, we need to continue to raise money for the roof and finishing. They are catching up! All donations of any amount are invaluable. Many thanks to Marga from the Netherlands for the latest donation just in.

EVERLAND HAITI IS FULLY FUNDED AS FROM NOW!!!

Michael Jackson's Legacy

EVERLAND HAITI IS FULLY FUNDED AS FROM NOW!!! Our final donor towards Everland Haiti is none other than regular donor and angel, Christine W from Sweden.

That means - WE'RE DONE! On the anniversary of Everland Liberia being funded, Michael's fans have just fully funded a SECOND children's home - this time in the heart of Haiti! Once again, the fireworks in the UK will be exploding for Michael, and once again, his fans have done him proud. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support, trust, encouragement, love and determination to keep Michael's legacy alive and shining brightly into the future for the dear children who need love and stability so badly.

116 donors from 22 countries around the world have made another ground breaking project happen today. Here's a very happy Michael and a picture of the children of Haiti, visiting Everland for the first time to see the building as it is being constructed. Bless you all.

Time to grab some tissues and get prepared to announce the next project in honour of Michael. Together and in unity and love, we really can heal this world! And YOU are proving it.

Everland Liberia - November 2013

THE LATEST ON EVERLAND LIBERIA: We know that progress has been slow, and this has been emphasised given that those in Haiti have worked so incredibly fast! Progress has been hindered by severe rain and a less than adequate road leading to the land. However, the good news is that the rain has subsided and the Government are promising to fix the road. Meanwhile, work on the dining room and kitchen has re-commenced and the wall is partially built. New photos are here and more to follow shortly :)

Get your tissues and be prepared for tears of pure JOY as we reveal the first photos of the beautifully finished building that is EVERLAND HAITI! This is the second children's home funded by Michael's faithful around the world, and the first to be fully built. This would not have been possible without so many of you. You heard Michael's lifelong message and pleas on behalf of the children and you responded. Neither would it have been possible without Maman Bishop and her husband, the incredible builders and all those out in Mirebalais, Haiti, who dream hard, and work even harder. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all. This one's for all the lost children of Haiti. Love, love, love!!

For those who gave towards Everland Haiti - here is your reward!

Our Honorary Ambassador, Dr Patrick Treacy, speaks at the dedication of the first children's home in the world to be fully built in memory of Michael Jackson. This place will
go on to do incredible things under the respectful leadership of Maman Bishop (seen here in yellow) and her husband, the Bishop. Everland Liberia is still in progress, the builders battling against the weather and bad road conditions as they complete the dining room and kitchen. Soon, we will see not one but two buildings full of happy children. Thanks to each and every one of you who have contributed to one or both homes in trust, faith and love
