Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

Tee hee, oh so funny, let's make fun of Michael some more, shall we?

'We Are Not By Ourselves'
'Indestructable'
'Outside'
'Fire'
'Ghouls'

How are those titles? Hee Hee.

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

The thing that makes me think that it's not Michael Jackson is the fact that on the original leaked version, it said "Black and Beats Vibe baby". Back and Beats Vibe are a company who help up and coming artists becoming widely known. Why would they be credited on a Michael Jackson song?! I can think why. Because it was originally a Jason Malachi song, perhaps? So he needed the promotion and Black and Beats Vibes sold him the beat. However when Sony asked if they could use it for Michael, they had that removed.

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

"person in the reflection" is my favorite. i can't wait to hear it. maybe they'll throw in some ad libs, "heees" and "shamones" from previous mj recordings? that would be fun.

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

Get the **** out of here. Having a disagreement is one thing, but to say someone isn't a real fan just because they don't agree with you is a slap in the face to what Michael and this board stands for.

Well Said.

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

black and beats vibe was added to the youtube clip by the pirates that released it - it was never ever in the original song.

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

I heard someone in MJFrance.com hired a specialist to run an analysis on KYHU and the result was that it's not Michael's voice with 80% possibility. Has anyone else confirmed this?
I read it in a Japanese blog and it didn't show any source.

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

MJFrance has done more than one experiment like that, each time, from what I've seen anyway, a source hasn't been mentioned, nor the names of said analysts. Sort of like what people are accusing Sony/Estate of.

Exaktly!!! And That Is Why I Can Say This: IMO This Is 110% Michael Joseph Jackson, This Is The Only Song That Can Make Me Sad And That Is Enough Proof For Me, And If You Really Think It Sounds Nothin' Like Mike, Then You Should Maybe Get New Head Speakers?

But that hasn't stopped you from believing Sony and the Estate wholeheartedly.

Because as of now, they have the law on their side. And I don't believe Sony and The Estate, I believe my own feelings, and ears (in regards to this song), Sony/The Estate only add to my belief.

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

To me its Michael. It gave me goosebumps listening to it, something only Michael's voice does to me. Everything about it screams Michael to me.

I don't get why people think its Malachi, I've heard better impersonators than him, so even if it was fake, I wouldn't think its him...

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

Having listened to the album many, many times now. Although I have reservations on about 70% of Breaking News & half of Monster, I don't see anything untoward about KYHU. If I hadn't read differently, I'd think all the lead vocal here is MJ.

The most surprising thing about this song is that it wasn't written ny R Kelly, it has his signature sound all over it (Cry, The World's Greatest etc).

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

'KYHU' is the most offensive and the most obvious of all of the fakes. It actually makes me feel sick when I have to hear it.

When do ever have to hear it?

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

When listening to those comparison videos. I hate having to pollute my ears.

Agreed. I thought it was just me who thought Keep Your Head Up was the worst of the 3 Cascio tracks. Most people seem to think its Monster.

Especially the first half of the song is disgraceful. Sounds all out of tune.
As soon as the vocals kick in 'She's lookin for a job and a finer place to stay,
She's lookin for the hope in the empty promising'. The voice instantly comes across as weak, its incredibly underwhelming.

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

Wow. I find this one really interesting. I can hear it blatantly on BN & most of Monster, but not on this. I don't particularly like the track, but could swear it's Mike.

Any Michael Jackson songs you can compare it to? Because there isn't one that i can compare it to.

Listen to those slow MJ tracks. 'Fly Away', 'Keep The Faith', 'Man In The Mirror'... those magnificent, breathy vocals. That unique phrasing - ''a summer's dis-reee-garrd, a broken botttle taaaap". The trademark hiccups and breathing patterns. The voice resonating in his nasal cavity. The SOUL.

Then listen to 'she's working two jobs... she cries the tears away'.

It's an absolute disgrace.

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

From the first time I heard KYHU, the vocals sounded the most like Michael's to me of the three contested tracks, and my opinion remains the same now. In particular, there are bits like the "I can't even see! I can't even breathe!" bit (dunno whether that might've been lifted from an established MJ song?) that sound exactly like him to me. **shrug**

Whenever I try to analyse the rest of it for evidence of this supposed blatant fakery, that obvious vibrato apart, I can't really detect anything all that untoward and my head ends up going a bit funny.

As for songs to compare them to, I've not compared them all that directly by any means, but it does remind me a lot of both On The Line and The Lady In My Life.

Same here...*shudders*

Re: Keep Your Head Up - The Great Debate

This song sounds like Michael to me. Not the best song on the album, but I still like it.
