:clapping: Any chance you could get your grandparents to vote for Michael too?

Re: OCC/ITV: VOTE for Billie Jean as Best #1 single of all time in UK

We almost did it. Billie Jean was number 2 :(

Queen beat us this time.

Re: OCC/ITV: Vote for Billie Jean as Best #1 single of all time in UK

Bohemian Rhapsody won! Yay! Billie Jean is second which is also great.

Gotta be fair and say BoRhap deserved this one. One of the best songs in history written by the great Freddie Mercury and performed by one of the greatest bands in rock music history and without a doubt the best British rock band in history, the legendary Queen. :D

Billie Jean being second seems pretty fair too, considering this is the UK.

As far as I'm concerned, Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" is the best single of all time in the UK. Not to mention they're British, which makes things even more relevant. Michael had his singles chart all over the world and quite frankly they deserved to, but Bohemian Rhapsody was a turning point in British rock and was truly groundbreaking. Then you have John Lennon's "Imagine" and The Beatles "Hey Jude", which are also huge and important singles in British music history too and also deserve a top5 spot.

I cant slight Queens Bohemian Rhapsody either. That was an awesome song and after all it was a british Poll so Billie Jean being 2nd is still a great win for MJ. We fans had a lot of stiff competion and we did a great job and should be proud of Michael song and ourselves. :clapping: We know in reality Michael's great accomplishements are 2nd to none.

Re: OCC/ITV: VOTE for Billie Jean as Best #1 single of all time in UK

Yay, 2nd place? well like everyone has said here, it's a UK poll so this is a pretty good result! :kickass: Plus, who doesn't love Bohemian Rhapsody? I know I DO! congratulations to Queen and of course our Michael! he's still making us proud and always will :kickass: :clapping:

Re: OCC/ITV: VOTE for Billie Jean as Best #1 single of all time in UK

Michael's Billie Jean was in good company. There were only two acts on top ten list that I didn't agree with, but otherwise it was ok.
"The 1975 single, which sold over one million copies during its five-week stint at Number One, saw off strong competition from Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean', which was narrowly in second place."

Billie Jean was second because I run out ideas for make up names and emails:D

This is the song Quincy didn't want to put on Thriller album 30 years ago.
Michael knew what he was doing and the song is still holding test of time.

Luckily, the votes of the Beatles' fans were splitted between the band and John Lennon. If there was only "Hey Jude", maybe they would have won and Billie Jean would stop at #3.

Re: OCC/ITV: VOTE for Billie Jean as Best #1 single of all time in UK

In 2002 Billie Jean ended 88th and that year the poll was only UK on all the number ones:

In 2006, there was also an albums poll (with the same methodology of 2002) and Michael had very good positions with Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and HIStory.

Re: OCC/ITV: VOTE for Billie Jean as Best #1 single of all time in UK

Although Billie Jean placed second, I can't really argue with Bohemian Rhapsody getting first. Freddie Mercury does however have Michael to thank for persuading him to release ''Another one bites the dust'. Good work mjfam.

Actually Queen, particularly John Deacon, who wrote the song. And by the way, the song was 'stolen' by someone who the guys knew at the time and that guy played it on his radio station all night. All of the sudden people kept requesting it even though it wasn't officially a single or anything. At some point, a couple of 'black' station in New York picked it up and played the song a lot thinking that the band were also black, partly due to the style of the song which was very funk and dance oriented at the time.

Michael mentioned to the guys to release it as a single but they were kinda skeptical about it, especially since the song barely made it on the album to begin with. However, as a result of the recent events at that time, the band found out of the song's popularity and obviously released it as a single, to capitalize on its success.

Ten would have done :p lol

Haha, I saw the list posted on QueenOnline so i just copy+pasted everything, lol. :p I'm lazy, I know.

Rats, shame bjean didn't win. Can't imagine the nationality of the artist should make any difference in these polls. MJ is so often marginalised in the media which is why i wd have like to have seen him win this, but 2nd is impressive.

Programme is on itv player (for uk viewers). Haven't watched it yet, but suppose mj will be near the end, http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=321396
