TII - DVD/Blu Ray (Deals and Packages) Thread

SO MANY CHOICES!!!
Do i get Bluray, dvd, deluxe edition, steelbook, ticket offer ect ect ect.

Can't believe UK gotta wait till late february :(

Blu-ray has better features. I mean a music video with the song you will hear at the end of the credits with clips from the movie probably with nothing new? Alright that is worth it. And where is my 3D short films? At least make it anaglyph red/blue on blu-ray but I get that they are saving it for the true 3D

I don't think it's really worth it cuz' the official video clip to THIS IS IT is very boring! As you said, nothing new, only some clips and scenes from the movie. Maybe just a few very little, very short scenes that we don't know or haven't seen yet cuz' it's not in the movie but anything else is already known.I mean I could just as well make my own video clip to it and it'd be probably even better than the official one! :p

Given the capacity of a Blu-ray compared to a standard DVD, it would make no sense to add features to the DVD but leave them off the Blu-ray...

There is nothing on the two-disc DVD that isn't on the Blu-Ray from what I have seen

I've had enough of this kind of releases.......

I dislike to find the best version . . . . just release 2 / 3 versions, but not 5 / 6

still have yet to see anything cool like this for Canadian customers. I doubt we will though... nobody likes us :p

but leave it to sony to double, triple, QUADRUPAL dip.

I'll still likely get both the DVD and Bluray (eventually).

what is the best version to get which contains the most ? and post link please ...

Aww no special collector sets so far for U.S. Are they trying to keep us in suspense or piss us off?

Which content did they recorded in HD then ? ? ? Not everything (off course they recorded the videoclips they should show during the concert in HD, but from the rehearsals...)
everything that you saw in TII that was widescreen 16:9 aspect was shot in High Definition.

So if you get the Blu-Ray Disc version of TII, you will get the exact same experience visually that you saw at the theater.

I'm a little sad only one BR version will be released.

I had hoped for a special 2 disc BR fan edition with a lot of extra stuff i HD. I know all from DVD 2 disc + more is included in the BR version. But they have soooo much material so I had hoped they would release even more in BR HD quality.

Because the UK are having to wait almost a month - they are including an exclusive featurette just for us!
THE UNFINISHED REHEARSALS - which I know some of you have been waiting for!

The original press release...

I don't think there is as much footage as they said, judging by the film. Most of it seems to have been taken from just a few days.

The Unfinished Rehearsals isn't what I thought it was, though.

Who cares about special effects concepts when there are seven songs that we haven't seen yet?

Yeah OK, I agree on that, but I want it anyway.

Hopefully we will see more than just the SIM rehearsal.

According to this trade ad the pre-order date for the US is the 24th December, so this is probably why we haven't learned anything about special packages.
Over the next couple of weeks I am sure we will start to see them emerge. Usually the US have some special box type sets that never see the light of day over here! Here's hoping!

not really much xtra on the 2 dvd set.when u compair it to the single dvd. guess they just filled it out to make ppl spend the xtra bit of money. guess ill just have to watch the blueray xtras on utube or where ever they end up

Kenny Ortega and Production Designer Michael Cotten reveal two show-stopping concepts
what does that mean? guess there isnt gonna be any xtra rehearsal footage on the dvd then by the looks of it. guess they will milk it for the next 10 years on seperate releases
