Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

I do not want to celebrate already but I think people are not that dumb to believe them. They are bad actors and it is showing. They have already been on every channel promoting it non stop.

A comment I made on Facebook on a BBC clip of these three idiots being interviewed. My comment now has over 1000 likes/reactions

I only ever get about 10 on twitter

Everyone seems to get getting their news about this documentary on fabebook or YouTube - get over there and get your voice heard if you can

Loads of people thinking Wade must have repressed memory. Let’s inform these people that that is NOT what is being claimed here

I absolutely want to help out, right away! Have a link to that for me?

He shows the other rings in the box but he tries one only the one with the diamonds lol and no his hands were not shaking and he obviously he was telling it like he was reading from a script. This is laughable and beyond pathetic actually. I cannot believe this is the highlight of the film.

And I just can't wrap my head around reviewers saying it's so powerful and harrowing and needs to be seen. From media I expect that kind of nonsense, they don't want you to ever think they are sticking up for Michael, but all these reviewers too man. Sad sad sad.

I guess it just shows they are just as full of shit.

Here’s the link. There’s a load of comments (many positive, many negative) so good luck...

I forget that people don’t realise that wade is not claiming repressed memory. It’s only when I see a comment about how “it’s so normal for abuse victims to suffer from repressed memories ...until they become fathers” or whatever that I’m like WAIT! Hang on a minute that’s not what wade is even claiming!

It's great to see that thread on Reddit. It's just not right that the thread is in the conspiracy theory Subreddit, because it really isn't a conspiracy if you ask me.

I do get it though, if you were to post things like that in a different subreddit you would likely get bombarded by trolls and haters and I remember reading here that once a moderator had deleted facts about MJ but he did let the hate message stay on the subreddit. But it's good to see people agreeing there too, many don't believe he was a pedophile at all.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

This is what the media did in 2005 that's why when MJ was acquitted the public could not believe it because they were told for two years by that point that there was a mountain of evidence against him, the journalists were leaving the court every hour and so to give updates with sordid details about the evidence and how guilty mj looked. Liars and manipulators. FAKE NEWS.

My name is Thijs van Abs there. I liked your comment just now.

LOL at this Heather Riccio, "creepy mannequins, erotic boy artwork". Riiiiiiiight Heather. Not sure what is creepy about mannequins and with erotic boy artwork I assume she means that unopened book?

"special kids bedroom hidden behind a wall in his bedroom".

Yeah I'm done there, hahaha. Not that again, just nope nope nope!!!! Sadly that post shows that a ton of people are 100% believers that he was a sicko. All their comments are fully based on tabloid stories too. I actually feel sorry for those people. Some of them said they clapped when MJ died, just think about that for a minute. All thanks to Chandler this, at the end of the day.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Brett Barnes is suing HBO!

Michael Jackson never molested a guy named Brett Barnes -- so says Barnes himself -- and he's getting ready to sue HBO for a documentary insinuating he was sexually abused by MJ.

The upcoming documentary, "Leaving Neverland," shows Brett, and he claims it implies Jackson molested him as a boy. As for why Barnes thinks this ... Wade Robson -- one of Jackson's well-known alleged victims -- claims in the doc, Barnes "replaced him." The film then shows Michael and Brett together on tour. Thus, the insinuation.

Barnes lawyered up and threatened HBO with a lawsuit, claiming the documentary puts him in a false light and subjects him to "hatred, contempt and ridicule." Presumably, the lawyer is saying MJ supporters will target Barnes as a result of the documentary.

Barnes testified at Jackson's criminal trial in 2005 -- along with Macaulay Culkin -- that he was never sexually abused by Jackson ... and he hasn't changed his account since. Brett also tweeted about the MJ allegations in January, calling them "lies."

"Leaving Neverland" does include Barnes' denial that Jackson did anything inappropriate, but only for a few seconds in writing on the screen. Brett's camp doesn't think that's nearly enough to "cure such a despicable allegation."

Barnes says he wants nothing to do with the film, does not give HBO his consent to use his image and likeness and wants all references to him axed ... or else.

We're told HBO replied to the letter, telling Barnes to pound sand. We're told a lawsuit now looms.

Skim through those comments and you'll see that Brett made the correct assumption -- he's already getting harassed as "in denial" and a "liar."

It doesn't help matters that Wade Robson called out ten alleged victims by name on Twitter earlier this morning:

I saw the Inside Edition Interview with Adrian Mc Manus now.
Interesting that she is now clamimg that she saw MJ laying in the bed wih the kids. What she as far as I know she never said before.
She changed her story like Wade to make it more beliveable and to make more money out of it in making sure that the will bring new inerviews with her.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

I say set Wade free... Let him incriminate the crap out of himself. he just called out all those people? haha

Is it true for sure that Brett Barnes is looking to sue? Where did the story originate from? that would be awesome

GUYS, PLEASE COMMENT ARTICLES ON THE NET, DO NOT LET YOURSELVES FOCUS INTO A MICHAELJACKSON COMMUNITY BUBBLE.

Twitter pages are great, full of immediate info, facts, evidence but among fans for fans.

The real opinion base is on the articles´comment/discussion sections where general public, readers, ordinary people are having their say and being influaced by the others, cos the articles mostly do not have the full fact-check agenda.

We can see how monstrous propaganda and extreme anti.jackson agenda and the orchestrated conspiracy there is.

Its not a coincidence, many of us have been talking about it for a looong time, now its open reality.

Here are some of the most important pages and most prolific twitter accounts for you as sources in arguing and having facts available, spread the messages all over the net, do not be affraid of spamming the discissions with facts:

NOBODY knows more about Jackson’s trials than his fans. They can quote evidence & trial transcripts all day. They know the cases inside out & backwards.

It blows my mind that people think we only defend Michael because we’re fans. Sure, that’s definitely a reason, but we also defend him because there is a factual basis to prove his innocence.
There is literally not one minuscule piece of evidence that suggests the contrary.

Wade Robson's posthumous allegations against Michael Jackson are a typical example of a false accuser making a mockery out of the legal system.

It is the right time not to be fair and correct...., let´s FIGHT

Media cannot afford to give fans a platform on the issue of the Michael Jackson allegations, as fans will humiliate them. Truth is 99% of commentators you see on TV discussing this issue know absolutely **** all about it.
It’s been a despicable, decades-long campaign of bullshit.

TV invites alleged ‘journalists’ on to discuss Jackson’s trials; they know absolutely NOTHING about the case. They just bang on about ferris wheels & what they reckon. It’s fraud.

Ask them what Kiki Fournier testified to at trial & watch them flounder. Then ask a Jackson fan.

They can ridicule us all they want but it is a fact we know more about this case then tha mainsteam media.
We actually follow the case, read court documents, while the media almost never does its homework, they just keep repeating myths and fallacies.

Legally, it shouldn't be free to destroy the reputations of the dead

I trust some of those people as far as I can throw them. Hasn't Aaron been a flipflopper? I recall weird stuff about him and then later he said it was all fabricated by tabloids?

Thing is, W&S both defended MJ for a long ass time too. I'm very happy that a lot of people that knew MJ stayed normal and didn't stab him in the back, but you know... money.

At least E Lewis defended him all the way last month. So did Corey and Aaron too. Cascio too before his post was deleted, right?

Let's hope nobody reaches out to Wade's pathetic post. Stop the silence? Stop your bullshit you lowlife good for nothing.

There was a Tweet going around with a like to article in which Dan Reed compared MJ to Ted Bundy and Hitler. Can anyone find it? As if we didn’t already know this was a farce.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Are we sure that Wade Twitter account is genuine? It seems too blatant.

Louis Theroux interview: ‘Michael Jackson had unhealthy interests in children, but I didn’t have enough victim testimony to put forward a forensic case’

Once the UK’s go-to investigative journalist for matters of the strange, Theroux’s latest film centres on men accused of rape on US university campuses. Jack Shepherd speaks to the interviewer-turned-interviewee about ‘The Night in Question’

It’s not easy interviewing an interviewer. They know all the tricks. They can deflect your question, or turn the tables on you, or faux-innocently ignore what you’re asking. Louis Theroux is a master at this. Speaking over the phone, the 48-year-old is charming and thoughtful, yet he also gives answers that, by and large, only scratch the surface.

Take our conversation about Jimmy Savile. Although we’re supposed to be discussing his new documentary The Night in Question, Theroux brings Savile up within five minutes. How does it feel, I respond, to miss out on the biggest story of his career – that Savile was a child molester? It’s something Theroux, who spent a week with Saville filming his When Louis Met… special in 2000, has thought about many times.

“You have to take that film with the context of the time,” Theroux begins before taking me on a whistle-stop verbal tour of scenes from the film. One of the most revealing moments, he says, is when Savile speaks about how he used to tie up miscreants in the basement in his days as a bouncer. Another is when Theroux asks Savile about rumoured paedophilia allegations. “We went deeper than many other interviews went,” he adds. “I watch it back now and I don’t cringe.”

It’s a typically pragmatic response from a man who has a reputation for staying stoic and unfazed while heartwrenching events unfold before him. He expands a little more.

“I always thought his sexuality was strange; how he never had long-term girlfriends, and his close relationship with his mother,” he says, again taking me on a detour, before eventually addressing the question head-on. “Do I regret missing the story?” he asks rhetorically. “I’m still proud of that documentary. Retrospectively, you can say we missed out on that story, but we did what we could at the time.”

Our conversation on Savile was almost inevitable considering the topic of The Night in Question. While the Oxford-educated Theroux was once the UK’s go-to investigative journalist for matters of the strange thanks to his Weird Weekends series, his later films have seen him take on more serious subjects. There have been pieces on the Middle East, dementia and alcoholism – some even bordering on polemic.

His latest documentary puts the spotlight on men who have been accused of sexual assault on US college campuses. Theroux offers a case study: Saifullah Khan, a former Yale University student who allegedly raped a woman while she was intoxicated. Khan was found innocent by a court but was still expelled by Yale. It later agreed to allow him back (not for long – but more on that later).

Running a piece on an alleged abuser, especially one where the victim does not want to appear on camera, seems against the ethos of #MeToo and Time’s Up. And although Theroux does speak to other alleged victims, surely, by focusing on Khan, the documentary gives a platform to someone who should not have one?

“When you make documentaries, sometimes you’re giving voices to the voiceless and other times you’re giving voices to those with voices,” he responds. “It’s incumbent on you as a journalist to decide how to handle that. I’ve done programmes on neo-Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan, the Westboro Baptist Church. I like to think I’ve acquired a maturity to handle those people, to challenge them and question them with enough focus and sensitivity that it isn’t a simple case of giving them a platform.

“It can be very powerful when you hear people almost testifying against themselves,” he continues. “There are really powerful films that can be supportive of victims that use the testimony of those people who have done things that are wrong or dodgy. That can speak just as elegantly to the bigger issue and the victim approach.”

Midway through The Night in Question, the person who put the BBC’s research team in contact with Khan, Jonathon Andrews, comes to Theroux with a story: he claims to have also been sexually assaulted by Khan. Andrews also alleges that Khan is using Theroux. “This documentary was meant to be his vindication,” he tells Theroux, who remains characteristically unperturbed by the revelation. A few weeks later, the Yale student newspaper publishes a report detailing Andrews’ claims and Khan is expelled permanently. (Andrews, it should be noted, was previously accused of sexual assault himself.)

“It was a moment of validation,” Theroux says. “I instinctively knew there was something wrong with Saif. He had, in that first interview, been talking about deep-throating a woman for two hours after she had thrown up. Hopefully, you can see my suspicions when he makes those admissions.”

Had Andrews not have come forward, though, would Theroux have been playing into Khan’s hands? “Jonathon’s revelations were the kind of thing we were banking on,” Theroux says. He explains how they went through hundreds of pages of court documents looking for something to question Khan about. “We weren’t blindly saying ‘let’s follow this guy and see what happens’. There was a little bit of a plan.”

The conversation turns once more to Savile. Perhaps he took Theroux for a ride. “I couldn’t have known about Savile,” he says. “He was capable of fooling the world. How were we to know when others – the police, Scotland Yard – did not? We were, I believe, able to put more of him into the public eye than anyone had before.”

Between the first Savile documentary and the follow-up 16 years later, in which he spoke to the victims, Theroux wanted to make a film on Michael Jackson. He was never granted access to the King of Pop and instead – in 2003 – spoke to Jackson’s father Joe and Terry George, who accused the singer of attempting to have phone sex with him when he was just 13 years old.

Would he have questioned Jackson about the sex abuse allegations? Again, Theroux begins by explaining the situation and detailing what happens in his documentary before addressing the question. “I had been investigating the case for quite a while and knew enough on the subject to view it at that time – as I do now – that he had unhealthy interests in children. But I didn’t have enough victim testimony to put forward a forensic case to him.”

Jackson has recently been the subject of a new Channel 4 documentary Leaving Neverland in which two men, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, accuse Jackson of having sexual relations with them while they were underage.

“I haven’t seen the film but I will say that two or three years ago, when Wade Robson first came out to say that he’d been abused by Michael Jackson, I did approach him,” Theroux continues. “I made another approach to Jordy Chandler, who was the victim in the case in the early Nineties. They weren’t receptive at the time. I can’t remember why.”

Theroux adds that Leaving Neverland is long overdue. “For many people, Michael Jackson was more a religious figure than a celebrity one,” he says. Theroux points to a disconnect between the way people look at Jackson’s music and the way he is depicted in the media. “You would see Michael Jackson-themed nights on reality TV shows, and then, if you cared to look, it was evident he had unhealthy interests in children. Even last year, the Royal Academy had an exhibition on Michael Jackson in which they didn’t address anything to do with the victims, which was such a dereliction. I’m not one of those people who thinks he should be muted, but you should call it what it is.”

Leaving Neverland has come at a time when public figures are finally being held to account for their alleged actions. One of those was Brett Kavanaugh, the Supreme Court justice accused of sexually assaulting Christine Blasey Ford while they attended high school together. The case was ongoing while Theroux filmed The Night in Question, something that was relatively coincidental, as the film stemmed from the growing open conversation about consent.

“It’s happening later in the US,” Theroux says, pointing to how revelations regarding Kavanaugh and Harvey Weinstein happened years after Savile and Operation Yewtree in Britain. “People in the public eye or a position of power are being held to account and they’re squealing about it,” he adds.

We return to the documentary in question. There’s a nagging sense that perhaps a male interviewer was not the right person to be holding Khan to account. Theroux may be sensitive to his position, but a woman’s voice could have arguably added something more to the conversation. He responds with a surprisingly straight answer.

“Am I the right person to be doing it?” he reflects. “If I was the only person doing it I would worry about that. It would feel weird and inappropriate. There used to be a term in rap, ‘It ain’t where you’re from, it’s where you’re at’, and it’s partly about where your head is at. I would like to think I’m able to do a good job, but in the end, viewers will have to judge me and let me know that I’m not the right person. But I think I enjoy it too much to want to stop doing it. Don’t think I’m being greedy, but that’s where I’m at right now.”

The Night in Question is on BBC2 at 9pm on Monday 4 March

It seems The Guardian, the Independent, BBC, CNN... from mainstream to tabloidish fake news... and they are ok with that... obviously.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

THIS COLD EGO ARROGANT EMPATHYLESS BEHAVIOR RIGHT NOW FROM WADE, CALLING OUT OTHER VICTIMS AND WITNESSES WITH THIS LIST OF PEOPLE HE CALLS OUT MAKES ME NOW BELIVE THAT HE IS THE CREATOR OF MJ FACTS!!!

This is nearly exectly the list they made up in their videos and Homepage!

He needs to be investigated!!!!
I hope that everyone of this list will sue him for deformation and can reache with this an investigation of Wade.
I'm not sure if James likes what he does!!

Let the japannese people know:

Bombshell film reignites Michael Jackson abuse firestorm
https://www.japantimes.co.jp/cultur...michael-jackson-abuse-firestorm/#.XHpyD1P-TIU

Commnent the discussion if there is also this:
For pop culture scholar Robert Thompson of Syracuse University, the release in today’s #MeToo context is key: Jackson’s trial was relatively recent, but “in so many ways, consciousnesses have been raised.”

“I could certainly see how a documentary this far out could completely change his legacy,” Thompson said.

Jackson’s sprawling homestead is back on the market for $31 million — some 70 percent less than the asking price four years ago, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Diane Dimond, a journalist who covered the Jackson saga for years and has penned a book on the subject, said she expects more men will come forward.

“He was a prolific pedophile, that did what he did right under our noses because he knew he was so adored that he could get away with it,” she said.

But the fans, Dimond said, “will forever think that he was like Jesus.”

“Jackson somehow strikes a chord, even today, in the very soul of people,” she added.

Thompson agrees, saying there is little chance of erasing Jackson’s artistic legacy, even if his reputation is tarnished.

“In any sense of rational history, we cannot retroactively say that no, Michael Jackson didn’t change the history of global pop — because he did change the history of global pop,” Thompson said.

“The ripples of impact that he sent out were not ripples; they were tsunamis.”

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

The nerve of that guy, can someone just sh...

Some tabloid printed a false story in which Aaron was quoted as saying that Michael gave him wine and cocaine at age 15, which he immediately denied. Other than that one incident, Aaron has always stated that nothing inappropriate ever happened between the two of them.

Notice that the only people Wade lists are people with established profiles; he hasn't done any digging into the hundreds (if not thousands) of children that Michael spent time with over the course of his life. I imagine he's hoping that one of them are strapped for cash.

Sadly for him, each one of those people have gone out of their way to defend Michael form '93 onward. Culkin, Feldman, and Lewis were defending him just last month. Barnes has been tearing the situation apart on Twitter and just filed a lawsuit against HBO. Chandler and Arvizo clearly want nothing to do with it. Bhatti hasn't made many public comments, but he's clearly supportive. The Cascios have been defending Michael for years.

Of all the things I've seen come out of Leaving Neverland, I sincerely think this might be the craziest.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

This narrative of - because Savile could do it means Michael did is beyond ridiculous and is the furthest thing from rationality and objective thinking..

It is actually feeding into the same narrative that people use for bigotry, racism, sexism etc...

*Because a Muslim commits a terrorist attack that means all muslim agenda is to commit terrorist attacks.
*Because a man can rape a woman, all men have it in them to rape women
* Because one black man left his family, all black men leave their families
* Wife cheats on husband and all women are wh***

You get it! but when people drink the media Kool-Aid, they don't see THAT!

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Brett Barnes is suing HBO!

Skim through those comments and you'll see that Brett made the correct assumption -- he's already getting harassed as "in denial" and a "liar."

It doesn't help matters that Wade Robson called out ten alleged victims by name on Twitter earlier this morning:

Harassment and defamation, by the book.

Take these ****ers down, Brett. We're right behind you.

Seems like something a real victim would do. Harass other "victims" in public directly by name to come forward. This guy is a complete narcissist.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

You can make a new one, or maybe reactivate it? Yeah I barely ever really use it too except for here and there a photo of my dog and that's it. And I notice with every Mike post I don't get a single like or comment. But you never know, someone still may have clicked and read/watched it and he/she could pass that one too. Same with Twitter.

Never did anything with my Twitter but now I'm gonna be thanking and replying to all supportive MJ tweets, the more it's out there the better. It's insane that this could have gotten this far. It wasn't thrown out by the judge for nothing. But for HBO and the powers that be... anything for money.

I could make a new one but deleted rather than deactivated my account as I had made my mind up I wouldn't be using it again.
It's just now with what's happening I feel I'd like to be there putting the truth across.

I'm glad to read on here and have seen it myself that many online, including non fans are seeing through these two, that's something I dont think we've had in the past so I'm slowly but surely hoping this backfires big time and may not be as bad as I first thought.....keeping my fingers crossed and in the meantime we all will battle on.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Theroux is an idiot. Still upset that bashir stole his thunder in 03. Bandwaggon jumper who can only get any attention by talking about mj. Saville had hundreds of allegations made against him was never properly investigated because the bbc (how ironic) and police covered it up. so was never put on trial. theroux had no problem hanging out with him but no doubt had heard all the whispers that those high up in the bbc covered up.

The only ppl that ever accused mj were paid by the press, the police filed lawsuits for money or never even met him. Yet grand juries the FBI and a jury found no credible evidence against him. Maybe that tells you something god forbid. But then as normal mj is used as a deflection tactic.
