They Dont Care About Us EXPLODING in popularity - becoming MJs most influential song? Re-release?

I'm so very happy TDCAU is played so much these days.

Hopefully a lot of people to the demonstrations will hear it and like it - and maybe go home and listen to the rest of the catalog. Would be nice if some discovers MJ.

TDCAU is the perfect song for the demonstrations these days. A real anthem.

I can't help but to find it funny that, just a short while ago, Michael went from almost being a victim of the stupid new “cancel culture” that the dregs of our society have drummed up, to now being the face of a worldwide human rights movement.

It’s really interesting to see that TDCAU recently gets about the same number of daily views as Smooth Criminal or Billie Jean. :)

How much daily views did it get before the BLM movement protests stated this year?

I think it was around 120,000 on average, but I don’t remember the source.

Nearing 130 millions plays on spotify. Gained 7+ million plays the last month, please remove Dont Matter To Me from the list though.

In that case I think emphasizing "exploding" in the title is not exaggerated :p

Alabama dancer’s Black Lives Matter video goes viral
…
Titled “They Still Don’t Care,” the dance is a mix of soft and hard movements that are both evocative and provocative as Lockhart showcases grace, power and vulnerability in choreography set to “They Don’t Care About Us” by Michael Jackson.
…
“I played the music and just set whatever came to me,” she said. “I really wanted to channel the concepts of pain and anger and wrath that everyone has been feeling lately and put that all into movement and expression.”

They can’t even bring themselves to post the Prison version.

The prison version was originally banned in the USA, I believe.

Yep. That’s one more reason to promote it now. But I guess it hits too close to home in the current situation, so let’s look at Brazil instead. :)

There actually is an old urban myth type of misconception (for some not reading credits) that Q was involved with TDCAU. :D I think it comes from the Quincy Jones logo being present on most of the TDCAU single releases (because of the B-Side remixes of Rock With You and Beat It). Some CDs display his logo on the same level as the MJJProductions and EPIC logos.

ps: might be BS what I wrote, but I somehow remember coming across this before.

That’s even more hilarious. :D

I thought the comment was just referring to the common misconception that Q was the mastermind behind everything MJ did.

Rachel Lockhart, a Birmingham, Alabama dancer from Alabama School of Fine Arts created a choreography expressing her feelings about the Black Lives Matter movement.

Using Michael Jackson song “They Don’t Care About Us” which has become an anthem for the cause, the video was shot in different part of Birmongham including the Black Lives Matter street mural.

On facebook, Rachel wrote:
“Expressing all of the anger, frustration, wrath, and pain of our people through art, Fighting for a change through movement and film, we teamed up on this project in hopes of spreading awareness through our art.”

About the dance, she said:
“I played the music and just set whatever came to me, I really wanted to channel the concepts of pain and anger and wrath that everyone has been feeling lately and put that all into movement and expression.”

Let’s not wait any longer and watch this amazing piece:
