Michael Jackson Memorial In Germany Is Gone!

Shrine of Michael Jackson on the base of the Statue of composer Orlando di Lasso in the Promenade Square in Munich, Germany has gone over the week-end.

The shrine was already the dispute between locals who wants the original state of the statue back, and 2 fan groups who have been fighting among them since 2015.

Well, it seems that due to the lock down in Germany as COVID-19 striking the world, someone has decided to clear and clean the di Lasso statue and get it back to it’s original state.

So maybe a local had plenty time on their hand and wanted the square back to its original look and cleared the area but president and founder of the Munich-based fan club MJ’s Legacy, Nena Snezana Akhtar, has already her suspicions and luckily she always carries extra Michael Jackson posters to restart the shrine.

It's not so much "gone" as it appears to have been vandalised or items stolen from it.

The fans will rebuild I'm sure.

If you go to the Facebook page linked in the first Tweet above you&#8217;ll see that they already started rebuilding it with posters and a few candles. There&#8217;s also a mail address, in case someone has spare items to donate. :)

I always liked the idea of when the G8's etc were held at the bayer.. that those running the world might take a walk and see how mj is loved and it might give them some food for thought as to how they should conduct themselves
 
I've only visited it one time. Incredible how long we have this memorial now. I really hope one day we will have a real one

Yeah. I think they have one in Austria. As far as I remember it is from fans (obviously), but I wonder WHERE this statue is standing. Is it on a private property? I don't know.

In a perfect world we would have something like that in Munich, and everyone would be happy, haha. (in ... a perfect world, lol :sarmoti )
