Michael's burial - Please put all related posts in here

Re: Jackson family lawyers inquire about burial permit at Neverland

The neighbors had better get ready, because Neverland has a future and that future is totally wrapped around Michael Jackson.

Re: Jackson family lawyers inquire about burial permit at Neverland

I have mixed feelings on this. I do think it is better in a way because it is a safer place. I do think it should only be done if Neverland remains in the Jackson family - the children. As for it becoming a museum/attraction. Well, I do think there are ways it could be done without too much disruption to the neighborhood/neighbors. For example, it could be set up so that the only way to visit is by bus from the nearest town. There could be a certain number of them set to go each day and return each night. Visiting could be set by reservation, and then first come, first serve if seats remain. That would easily limit the traffic and give good control.

Re: Jackson family lawyers inquire about burial permit at Neverland

You are so right, Lacey. It doesn't have to be as open as Graceland is. It can also be seasonal.....meaning you can only visit on certain times in the year. They can set it up like The Price Is Right or the Oprah Show where you go online the the Neverland website and pick from a range of available dates. Then you plan your stay there and show up on that day. They can control the number of guests that are at Neverland on any given day if they want to.

Re: Jackson family lawyers inquire about burial permit at Neverland

I thought the company that took over MJ's morgage was going to sell the property. Also, the neighbors don't want a tourist trap. So what would be the point of burying Mike there.

The neighbors don't really have a choice anymore. Wrather Michael is burried there or not or wrather there are new owners of the property now, that will never change the fact that Michael has lived there for decades and called it his home and it will always attract and draw people and devoted fans....always so they better either move or just get ready to embrace it.

Re: Jackson family lawyers inquire about burial permit at Neverland

I Heard if they were to Bury him at never land, they'd incase his tomb in concreat to prevent graverobbers, and it'd be right by the famous train station.

^ THIS must happen. michael would totally want it this way and it'll HELP to make neverland a Memorial!!

But who would pay for the upkeep? They would need to spend a serious amount of dollars on doing the gardens up to their original state.

Obviously, to be able to make Neverland accessible and to restore it, admission would have to be charged. Any profit after that should, I would think, go to the children or to charity. This is speaking waaaay ahead of anything though. Who knows what is going to happen yet??

I'm not sure that having such restrictions would allow for paying the upkeep - at least if it was restored to its former glory. I think I remembered something like $4,000,000 per month when MJ was there - and I'm sure he was limiting attendance fairly strictly. If there were larger crowds there would likely be even more costs. Additionally, since it mostly a private residence there might be more licensing, permits, insurance to consider.

Actually I suspect the neighbors could have an effect on what is done with the property. They could certainly mount a campaign to not allow and changes in zoning that might be required to turn it into an attraction. Of course some nieghbors will see it as a chance to cash in.

Now if someone could get some of the stimulus money to put in a real road to Neverland it might have a chance.

For me I would rather see something done in Gary as I feel the raids and accusations really left a bad taste in his mouth regarding Neverland and he stated as much publicly.

Re: Jackson family lawyers inquire about burial permit at Neverland

But he didn't want to go back there. :(

This is difficult. There is no way to know if his feelings would ever have changed. But there were so many years of happy memories he had there so it is possible. And regardless, we do know that he did not want to let it go because he worked out a way to save it and still be part owner. Can only wonder if he would have gotten full ownership back in the future. So it seems it did still mean something to him.

Oh, and when I talked about limiting visitors - well, depending on demand, you could have a lot of busses in use. It would cost money to set up to start, but you could have anywhere from 500 to 900 a day if it were popular enough, and that would recoup. The sad thing is that while people would get an idea of what Neverland once was, it will never really be the same again because there would be a charge for everything. If it was well done though, it could work out. I just have really mixed feelings. I'd hate to see the dream Michael built there gone forever, but it would still never really be the same, just an echo.

Re: Jackson family lawyers inquire about burial permit at Neverland

I would like MJ buried there, but at the same time MJ never wanted to return after everything that happened there. I just hope where ever he's buried he is let rest in peace and fans, family and friends can visit and not the public.

But how can you make difference between fans and public...

Media of course forbbiden, enough is enough

Re: Jackson family lawyers inquire about burial permit at Neverland

Michael never said he did not want to go back there he said that Neverland is no longer a home to him it was just a House only. But I am sure he would not be against his burial there 100% he still loved NL to a point why do you guys think he fought so hard to avoid NL from going into foreclosure.

If he hated it so much he would of been glad to get rid of it. So I'm all for him being buried there. You see whats been happening in Chicago with peoples graves being dug up. I am sure some nasty person would do that to MJ's grave. If he is buried at one of these public graves. He'd be protected at NL.

As far as CNN is concern they are trying to Michael Jackson for every penny they could, with all these unamed sources.

Personally, we don't need to know where the exact location of Michael's body will be. Hateful people will do nothing but try to desecrate it, just like they are his memory. I think that the family should have a permanent memorial where fans can leave cards and letters of that such. But we should let his body and his spirit rest in eternal peace.

Actually, he did say it, after talking about the mess and destruction left by the officers, expressed he never wanted to go back there. But by the time, he was overwhelmed, so he actually could've changed his mind when the foreclosure seemed as imminent.

Yes, you are right, was thinking of that after, unless fan clubs would hand out fans certs proving they are regulars on forum and proven fans. Don't know really. Just an idea.

I have this same questions. Anybody with answer or valid input?

I just want our Michael to finally be at his resting place. He deserves peace.

Still, can't believe he is gone. Sigh.

Michael's family needs to recognize that he is more than just their son, brother or father. He has millions of fans around the world who are responsible for his success. Those fans deserve an opportunity to visit his grave if they so desire. The best way to serve his fans would be a Graceland type facility either at the original Neverland or perhaps at a replica somewhere else, preferably in the U.S. rather than at the replica planned in Shanghai.

i hope they burial MJ at NeverLand cause is land of quiet and thinking for him and i think it'll be nice

I am mixed on this one. When Latoya was on Big Brother here she said that Michael can't go back to Neverland because it is too painful for him and that he will never go back.Would he still feel that now? I don't know.Things changed after those b******s ransacked his beloved home.
I think it would be nice to see him go back to Neverland rather than Forest Lawn.I just hope they don't open up Neverland to the public and make his grave a tourist attraction.
If they did open Neverland up to the public perhaps they could bury him where the public can't get direct access to like Princess Diana. She is buried on an Island and the public can only view the Island and not invade her space.

mj was majority owner of the company that took over the ranch to the family.estate would have to agree to anything. u look at this from a business standpoint. if mj goes back to nev it cant ever be sold so u turn it into graceland type place.thatwill make money for years to come more money than just selling it off. thas why colony have been looking at all options mjs ex bodyguard mike laperruqe said mj told him he never wanted to go back there. but tbh i hardly doubt mj was thinking about where he would go now. i dunno most important thing is he needs o be safe and the ranch would need securing a great deal. at the end of the day hes gone its just a shell. and i still cant believe im talking about this im living my life in a complete daze and frankly i cant handle the pain it brings. i wish this nightmare would end cause i cant bare much more of this *cries*

whathever you think about Michael's wishes concerning Neverland he won't be living there anymore so it's no problem at all. the fact is that Neverland would be the best place to remember Michael, the best and the worst part of his life.

I'm sorry to bring this up but if they really took MJ's brain out, I don't think his face will be a pretty sight.

You do realize it's the hardness of the SKULL that holds the shape of a person's head and face, right? The brain is the soft stuff inside the skull. They have ways of taking out the soft stuff without his head and face collapsing.

Anyway, I'm just concerned about any negative energy/vibes that might be lingering. True, we don't know how he felt about the place at the time of his death but as late as last October, he wouldn't even return there to pick out what things he wanted to auction off or keep (hence leaving the task up to other people who didn't do the best job). Seems like he really had no intentions of ever setting foot on the property again...or was trying to avoid having to do so any time soon. And the Neverland MJ created on that beautiful and serene property just doesn't exist anymore. It's just beautiful peaceful property. Unless they plan to restore the place and put the rides back and have music playing around the place they way Michael had, it just won't be Michael's Neverland. It would be some tourist/museum type thing that he had no say in.

It would be nice to know if he spoke about the property to any of his friends very recently. Mark Lester? Frank Dileo? Kenny Ortega? Anyone? That would probably help the family decide better how they feel. I remember LaToya saying he didn't want to go back becuz it was still painful for him so I dunno. Granted, he's no longer alive and won't feel that pain, but still. Why take a person back to a place they were avoiding like the plague. It's like MJ left that place and felt he would turn into a pillar of salt if he returned...and now ppl are now thinking of taking him back there for ETERNAL REST? I just don't know. :( In any case, whatever the family decides it will be final and we'll all just have to respect it.

I agree 100%

If he went to Neverland, his casket was going to be encased with concrete.

If its at the Hollywood hills place, I assume they have really tight security - esp. with all the other big stars there.
