i hope nobody gonna be bitchin' about leaked tracks they have heard prior to Xscape. No one held a gun to your head ...when they leaked you made a conscious decision to DL and /or listen.

I know this thread is about XScape, but I just wanted to respond to these two comments.

Birchey, you took the words right out of my mouth. The fact that the lyrics got changed is precisely the reason why I do not like Hollywood Tonight. Michael was so great at saying what everybody else was thinking. He was honest and he didn't sugar-coat anything, and when they changed the lyrics- to give the song more of a "happy ending"- it just completely took away from the whole meaning of the song. Just... don't mess with Michael's lyrics. To me, that is total and utter disrespect.

I don't think it's about child prostitution. For me, it's about trying to "make it big" in Hollywood. If you want to be successful, if you want to make a name for yourself, if you want to be famous, you have to be willing to sell your soul to the devil. You may even end up having to do things that are shameful and degrading- "She's giving hot tricks to men just to get in"- and, unfortunately, that's how Hollywood operates.

Back to Xscape- I've tried to keep up with all the posts in here, but I just can't. There is just WAY too much to read, and it's all going so fast. By the time I'm done reading one page, 5 more have been added :lol:

Anyway, I've seen a lot arguing between people- what songs should be on the album, what songs shouldn't be; disliking the album cover... and that's just to name a couple (that's what I see the most anyway).

Why is there so much complaining and negativity? Just be happy that you are getting something. I know I am. I'm not the biggest fan of the album cover, but I'm not on here bitching about it. It is what it is and I accept that. The same with the tracklist, whatever it may be. It is what it is, and if you don't agree with it, if you don't like the chosen songs, then don't buy the album. You do have a choice.

So happy I did'nt give in to the leaks, so the word 'new' still applies for me when it comes to these tracks.

These are strong songs, and they'll be new to the general public. You can't blame the Estate or Sony for the leaks.

Me too. I don't want this album, or future ones, to get spoiled because I had a moment of weakness. This entire album will definitely be new to me :)

Ah, so $13 Dollars for the Deluxe. 3D Deluxe cover. 17 songs....I wonder what the bonus track is.

17 SONGS. JESUS....and 2 videos. Im more than satisfied.

Knowing the fact that the Estate knows we're getting 6 leaked songs, they've probably done enough to make them feel fresh; so I'm okay with that. And we truly can't fault them for the leaks, I know it sucks, but it is what it is. I would have wanted CGYWOM to replace one of the leaked songs, but that's most likely due to forces outside the Estate's control (Like the producer holding on to it or something ala Will.I.Am). I wonder about the last touched Michael's songs they'll be including in the deluxe edition then, like will they just be the leaks we already have, or perhaps we'll get a version Michael worked on that maybe we didn't know about or heard before. Hmm, I think that can be a possibility.

Erm. 17 songs? did you miss that.

Think about it if the tracklist is

Chicago
STTR
LNFSG
BG
DYKWYCA
SWLM
APWNN
Excape

Chicago and SWLM would be Brand New
DYKWYCA and STTR would have new demos
and the rest of the demos would be in CDQ
then we have the 17th track which could be anything.

and if anything you'd be shelling out about 21 dollars.

apparently LNFSG has a killer mix on the album that wont disappoint.

Technically they would all be new to us. It's not their fault most of them leaked and it was on you when you listened to them. I actually blame myself for listening to them when they leaked just couldnt wait :doh:

Not only that but APWNN wasn't suppose to leak.
STTR Tricky, LNFSG (2010 and 1980), and BG all leaked because of fans butt hurt over the Cascios.

See I'm not an audiophile. I don't necessarily care about getting the songs in CDQ or not. As long as they are listenable in their leaked quality I'm fine. In any sense, it's two new songs against six leaked ones. And that's ridiculous.

Yes, I didn't have to listen to the leaks. But almost everyone here has. And we get albums for new music and I'm not getting my money's worth. I'll torrent it.

I hate to say it but the naysayers were correct. This is a wasted opportunity.

Which it was justifiable IMO. It was a huge disrespect to Michael and us releasing those tracks.

"Butt hurt"? Nah..Rightfully annoyed?? Yes...And it's not like people asked for those to be leaked, it's possible the reason they leaked had nothing to do with the Cascio thing, people just wanted new Michael songs and someone decided to put some out there.

Yes he does. I can literally list eight releasable songs right now if I wanted to. CGYWOOM, Men in Black, I Have This Dream, WMCIG solo version. Those are just four that I know for a fact are finished and releasable.

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't have a right to be angry because I'm getting two new songs and six I've already heard. It's not like you haven't listened to the leaks. We've waited years for a new album and it isn't new. And it's a waste. IMO

How do people know already what songs will be on the album? I can't find anything anywhere about it. Except Wikipedia, and I know enough to not trust Wikipedia all the time.

PS: Thank you for sharing the deluxe edition cover :) I've been looking for the regular cover in a size larger than 960x960. Hopefully I'll be able to find one; it'll be awesome for making wallpapers and such :)

Wow the deluxe cover is so much better! The hair just looks much more natural making the silhouette look better..
