Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

After emailing Sundance yesterday,I later sent a lengthy email to Channel 4 last night saying I was looking forward to hearing from them and asked if they could kindly not send a generic reply.

I just seen this appear in the news thread on my phone....it's from The Scum,I mean the Sun newspaper in the UK.....this is an extract of some of the crap they print...

"Lawyers say the King of Pop shelled out nearly $200 million to as many as 20 victims"

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

I am kind of sorry for Jordan.. how old was he back then? 13? he was forced by his parents to tell shit.. and he probably was scared as hell.. We never know what the parents told him whats happening if he don't say it.... I am sure he didn't want to do this. But i definitely cannot understand why he is just hiding especially now.. Now is the time for him to tell the truth. I am sure fans would more appreciate that than hating on him... blame his parents for that shit.

They just make stuff up as they go eh? Because I don't recall lawyers ever saying this.

I sent them email yesterday and received the standard response. I'm quite sure nobody is even reading the emails. Keep sending them anyway though guys, surely there must be a threshold where somebody is required to look at the cause for complaint.

I don’t know what the fallout will be on this certainly nothing good. For some strange twisted reason the estate will sit back and use this to their advantage with the IRS settlement. Using this as a example to devalue MJ. This will crush the way people view MJ but help the estate keep some money. Call me crazy but the estate is twisted.

I hear you and I agree with you. He was a minor at the time, coerced by a horrible man, Evan Chandler. I suppose I can also understand his reluctance to expose himself, then and now. Although I'm not convinced his fears are that well based. After all, the media is far more interested in the 'Jack% - the monster' angle than the definite proof of HIS innocence.

That is why I think they would try very hard to ignore Jordan's testimony, if he were to come forward and confirm what we've known all along - that it was all set in motion by a greedy, ambitious and vindictive man who took advantage of his son's friendship with one of the biggest public figures. And all of that in order to make a name for himself, accumulate a fortune and in the process try and seemingly succeed in ruining that innocent man's life.

As you've also stated kai, I too believe fans would not attack or resent him, but much rather appreciate such a brave gesture of honesty, however late. Unfortunately, I don't know how realistic such a scenario is. Jordan may very well carry on as he has in his adult years. As horrible as it is, we should try and get used to the idea that on this side of earth, Michael may never get true and complete justice.

If I were you, I wouldn't expect anything else but a robotic reply, perhaps with a slight twist about their 'integrity' and renewed commitment to 'investigative reporting'. It is incredibly frustrating to see them get away with such blatant lies, as the one with the figures above. They are complete fabrications, but still they dare publish them without impunity and tragically, some people do end up believing them.

I've found it slightly interesting how the media has virtually ignored these two excuses for human beings starting with 2013. There was initially a platform for Wade Robson, but it quickly faded and he was not taken seriously. The fact that he had previously testified under oath that Michael had done absolutely nothing to him might have something to do with it.......While with the second guy it was even less. I think most people weren't even aware there was such a case.

Therefore, I find it highly suspicious that they suddenly decided that these 'victims' now 'need to be heard', after their cases got dismissed, on technicalities, of course. The #metoo movement and the R.Kelly revelations certainly seem to have helped in creating the false momentum for this mockumentary of truth and decency. The fact that there is an organised effort involving a supposedly respected movie festival, HBO and a British TV channel certainly points to a multi-level, most targeted attack which does threaten Michael's legacy more than anything else since 2005.

Hopefully, we will overcome this latest wave of tabloid junk. After all, we've already been through 1993 and the trial. Depending from where you look, the fact that Michael is not here is both a good and bad thing. If he were alive he could sue to the daylight out of these clowns - both the ones pretending to be victims and the media entities involved in propagating these lies. On the other hand, it is comforting to think that he doesn't have to deal with this crap anymore, even if it hurts us, his family and his legacy.

People have shown a lot of good will towards Michael since June 2009 and most of the comments I've seen online are in his defense. I am convinced that once the dust will settle on this latest media-caused storm, his music and his message will still be embraced and cherished by many across the world. But until then, we must brace ourselves and be prepared for things to get worse before they get better. This 4h trial-by-media may make a dent in Michael's popularity for a while, but eventually people will see through it, same as they have through all of the previous attempts at separating Michael from the love of folks worldwide.

Its just sad.
The entire main stream news are fabricated and most people choose to believe it (for now).
Certainly convienient for all the real criminals in Hollywood and politics to have MJ as a distraction.

We all must unite, turn darkness to light and the love in our hearts will shine!

However, it is terribly frustrating to see how the (tabloid) media, which in Michael's case includes most of the MSM as well - with the small and notable exceptions over the years - and false accusers are allowed to ruin the lives and tarnish the good name of people, alive or dead.

It is inconceivable to me how they are allowed to do all of this. Freedom of the press does not imply freedom to slander and to destroy innocent people. Something must be done about it and hopefully something will be done. But it takes political will and utmost bravery to defy such a horrid creature who has the power to paint the innocent as guilty and hide the crimes of the true monsters of the world.

He is now a 39 year old man. It’t usually the ”what have I achived in my life” age chrises age so if one day guilt makes him make a statement I wonder how he media would react. A: make a big story about it. After all MJ has been dead 10 years. B: call him a lier, C: just keep quite about it. I’m guessing c. But we should never give up.

They just make stuff up as they go eh? Because I don't recall lawyers ever saying this.

It was from a fake FBI docu. A woman sold it to the tabs a woman know for doing such things. All the FBI docs were releasrd and no such thing was included. Just another part of the fake news agenda against mj.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

I don't know how big the Sundance Festival is, but I'm more worried about HBO to be honest. Not only is going to be shown on TV, but it's going to stay on their site forever. GoT is trending now and you know how big it is (the new season is coming out this year) and just imagine how many people have a subscription only because of that show.

Unbelievable the lengths people go to when it comes to this man, Jesus christ.

It's definitely good to see the support from the other Safechuck though. HBO and anyone involved should be ashamed of themselves.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

The only lawyers that talked about that phony 200 million dollar settlement were Finaldi and co. in a press conference.
Most likely repeated in this "documentary".

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

Does someone remember why Jordan Chandler did not testify at the 2005 trial? I wish Michael's defense team would have pushed hard for him to testifty and to get a chance to question him. That might have been the only chance to ever hear Chandler speak.
Well his mother was subpoena to come and NOT one time did she just come out and said he abused her son. That tell you something right there. One reporter even said her testimony seem to help MJ.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

This isn't good at all. Finally when the narrative in the public seemed to be turning in our favour this fiasco is going to set everyone back years and possibly decades. To have a HBO documentary aired around the world with interviews from men who claim they were molested by MJ, plus the Channel 1 in the UK, plus a movie screening.... the press will be ALL over this. The US and UK media especially have always loved to jump on any anti MJ train. You could swear they have an agenda to bring him down. Any positive news about Michael's accomplishments or music is ignored, while the controversy is picked up like some prime time presidential address. This is going to ignite a social media storm (Twitter is already going wild over it and the video is weeks away from being seen). Here is just my guess of the fallout:

-MJ's Cirque Du Soleil will be cancelled by years end in Vegas
-Michael Jackson's Halloween special will be cancelled by CBS
-MJ's radio play will see a downturn in the US especially
-MJ's album sales will decrease in 2019 especially in the UK, US and Canada due to the negative coverage
-Any future projects planned for 2019 will be canned/shelved including single releases/duets, etc.
-Nobody will be able to bring up Michael in a conversation without someone in the group/party bringing this up

All in all, this is a nightmare come true. I feel like we are back in 2004/2005 all over again. Only that time, there was no video of anyone claiming Michael abused them. Now we have a 2+ hour documentary with two separate boys with a detailed explanation of what happened. Its going to hit the public hard and Im sure the media will be obsessing over it.
Stop assuming these things will happen. Some fans go in this panic and the situation be ok. We went through this when Wade came out (it was viewed a joke); when James came out, when the lawsuits were file, the fake FBI file, the fake stuff that was claimed to be found, etc. We will get through this.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

I hope you are right @terrell, but now that I'm more calmed down, I can see how this could go either way. The #metoo environment has made this possible and, while starting to finally get some backlash, is still bringing down powerful people every day.

I find it ironic that by law the reputation and legacy of the deceased can not be ruined and therefore can not be defamed, and at the same time the IRS claims that same legacy and reputation is worth millions.

We have huge problems going on in the US right now, but I think it's time to write congressmen to change the laws regarding defaming the dead. California is a good place to start.

Exactly. Some people act like this has never happened before. Same s&$# different month.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

Just a quick question.

After the trial is there any chance there could be any settlement between MJ's team and Safechuck's family? Just like it was with Blanca Francia's? I don't think/believe there's any, but who knows.

I know MJ and James remained close until late 1994 (that we may know of) since James is seen with MJ and Lisa Marie on Bucharest recording the HIStory teaser.

The only thing that may worry me about this trainwreck of documentary is thay they could show any """"evidence""" (such a settlements or any amount of money) MJ camp may have given him. Do we know everything they presented in court?

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

Nothing was ever presented and of course if any such one had taken place you dont think his lawyers would have leaked it to the media or put it in court docs. They have no problem talking about fake docs..

That's what I think, but... you know.

Still it always baffled me why James Safechuck wasn't called as a witness for the defense or prosecution. They called Wade Robson, Macaulay Culkin and even Brett Barnes. Why nobody (nor Meserau or Sneddon) called Safechuck?

Yeah but men that went down with the metoomovement those claims w ere proven or admitted to. A lot of people have been accused and old stuff come back up and those actors are doing great still from Anthony Anderson from Blackish; Ryan Seacrest; Nelly; Syvester stallone, and many more.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

Because unlike the others no one claimed they saw or knew of safechuck as a victim and he had no connection to any others interms of the timeline of the 05 trial.so there was no reason for him to be involved

And while the people that educated themselves on the matter will know better, a lot of people watching this on TV or during that festival will go all "well wtf. This is horrible." and that really really is so messed up. It really shouldn't be allowed in the first place.

If this goddamn thing lasts four hours, what kind of extra trash will be added next to undoubtedly all the stuff these two claimed before the judge dismissed it?

We just have to hope that this documentary gets limited coverage/publicity. Unlikely, but I also think people have reached saturation point with allegations against MJ. You either believe he’s innocent or you don’t. It will be on tv one night and then hopefully we can move on without it being commented on too much.

When Wade first came out with his allegations, he did a number of tv interviews, but it didn’t get that much attention due to his complete lack of credibility. He isn’t even claiming to have covered up the supposed abused, he is saying he didn’t realise what happened to him was wrong, which is just laughable. He has filed a suit in court and had it thrown out. This guy is a joke.

Im just hoping before it goes on tv that there aren’t loads of adverts for it as that will spark interest.

We need to keep fighting and get this MJ innocent doc made by someone big in the industry.

Makes me proud that we’ve all pulled together. Forget whatever Estate/Sony/Jackson family drama we’re all here fighting for MJ and it’s great to see. Just a shame it’s taken this to get us all back together fighting for MJ.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

Is it just a coincidence that this is all happening really close to the documentary about R Kelly? Is that airing during Sundance too? I haven't seen the doc yet but I'm willing to bet this is gonna be compared to that, which is preposterous because they really can't even be compared. It's quite shocking how he hasn't been arrested yet, but look at how insane the raid on Neverland was and how quickly he was arrested. Sigh.

As I keep saying, Michael was treated like a serial killer and given NO SPECIAL TREATMENT.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 Carrying MJ Molestation Doc

A proper documentary is not something we, as fan, can fund. It has to be done by the state, just hire Michael Moore or any other well-known respected documentalist and explain everything through interviews and reenacments et. all on a 4-5 episode series on NetFlix.

MJ state is a one billion dollar enterprise, they do have the funds, the music/video rights, even MJ personal stuff and media connections to put it on NetFlix. It's a very long thing to explain for the general public, so it should be told mostly as a TV-documentary-investigation series, because it's too much info and names for people to follow in just 2h.

If they had any evidence, it would have came out in 2005 or either in their lawsuits in the "discovery" faze. NOT. I do not why but I think their lawyer and this Dan Reed are friends because it makes no sense in anyone doing a doc on these guys.

That is as lie. FBI investigated Michael and if something like was true, the FBI would have it.
