Yeah, Blinding Lights was a HUGE song last year. And 'After Hours' was certainly a success. The Weeknd is certainly at his peak right now (as was JT in 2014), it would only make sense.

Paul Anka was working with Drake on a project. I guess the MJ song was just an opportunity for Paul to make some extra cash.

Look at the numbers for both of those songs, especially Holy. People aren’t rushing out to stream and buy it, it’s propped up almost entirely by radio play. The same with Go Crazy (Chris Brown).

It’s undeniable that the Weeknd is a hotter prospect in 2020/2021 than Bieber.

Not necessarily. The Weeknd is definitely at his peak right now, Bieber isn't (he was in 2015/16). However, Bieber still has singles that have more longevity overall and higher peaks on the Hot 100 chart.

In 2020 The Weeknd had 6 singles on the Hot 100 chart. Blinding Lights, which was absolutely massive...and 5 others which weren't hits in the U.S.

-In Your Eyes peaked at number 16 on the chart.
-Smile peaked at number 8 (but didn't have longevity).
-Save Your Tears peaked at number 21 (but is growing right now after the release of the music video.)
-Over Now peaked at number 38.
-Hawái peaked at number 12 (didn't have longevity).

Bieber also released 6 singles in 2020.

-Yummy debuted at number 2 on the Hot 100 chart (it didn't have longevity).
-Intentions peaked at number 5 and stayed in the top 10 for 18 weeks.
-Stuck With U debuted at number 1 (no longevity).
-Holy debuted at number 3 back in September (is still in the top 10).
-Lonely peaked at number 12 (stayed in the top 20 since its release).
-Monster debuted at number 8.

Bieber is more of a mainstream pop artist. The Weeknd is doing more dark RnB music which isn't necessarily as commercial as Bieber's music. But I think a duet with either one of them and MJ would be a smash hit, if promoted well.

J.B is as popular as ever. A duet or 2 would be fine. I just hope it’s not a entire album of fake duets. Especially with artists MJ didn’t even know. We will see eventually they will release something. Don’t have much confidence in quality to be honest.

The material is certainly there to create a quality product, something that Michael truly deserves. The only track I wouldn't oppose to being in the main track listing, and also featuring other artists would be Hot Fun as it's claimed to be vocally incomplete solely by Michael. Listening to the original I wouldn't class it as a strong track but if it does feature Mary J. & The Weeknd like the Twitter user is claiming, then surely their is reason to believe that it may be a success.

The instrumental of the duet is easily the greatest one out of all three from the album. Such a feel good track.

If they really have to manufacture duets they truly are out of quality material. I wouldn’t consider Mary J or D’Angelo popular current artist. Certainly in the past they have had their success. If they feel MJ needs a current artist to sell music I hope they don’t bother with it. Give us the MJ demos we don’t care if they too the charts.

Marketing wise it wouldn't be a great idea to do the opposite.

Maybe the new album will also have an accompanying dvd (like it was the case with "Xscape"). Can't wait to see every participant sitting together & literally tapping their shoulders.

i'm kind of like smooth and alwaysthere. i feel Michael songs should be left alone. it would different if he was alive. i feel estate do it to boost sales of michael and the artists. which not bad (no pun) in my opinion but with old item. yeah stuff like that should be release by it's self with no artists in it. that just my opinion and 2 cents but if they do it like love never felt so good then i'll be good because we have two versions without the feature artist. seriously i didn't care for the version with JT but i do like some of his songs. just i feel there was no point to it even though he did support michael and michael liked him.

Hot Fun was already finished with Mary J. Blige and D'Angelo in 2014 for Xscape and that same account said Throwing Your Life Away would feature a guest artist. So I'm pretty sure that list is a complete list of all featured artists on the entire album.

How sick would it be if Madonna, Rihanna and Beyonce would be on the album? Just imagine people who supported Michael on the new alleged album. (I know Madonna is a different story, but she still supports him).
