I think apart from some obvious choices that I'm not gonna name I think it needs autobiographical songs or songs that just fit Michael's persona like a glove. I'm thinking about Music and me, with a child's heart and childhood. I also would like seeing purely magical songs like someone in the dark or scared of the moon which showcase divine vocals, maybe in a fantastical dream sequence? Maybe some really sweet animation sequence of 2 lonely creatures reaching out? I don't want it to be dry biopic drama, it should have some magic because Michael in his mind saw things differently than other people.
Others that are absolutely required are the lady in my life, shake your body down to the ground (they really should recreate this song performance as they did it on tv shows in 1979), who's loving you is also an absolute necessity!
Whatever they end up picking I hope some attention will go towards lesser known or forgotten songs, with such a vast discography (including Motown) the sky is the limit really.
Later era songs that could provide something meaningful like Morphine, Is it scary, will you be there should get some attention too.

For the ending credits, I want an uplifting song which showcases hope and friendship. Maybe someone in the dark or I like the way you love me?

I really hope the Motown section will not be glossed over but that seems unlikely. I'm probably putting too much expectations on this, I'm bound to get disappointed lol.

PS I hope the movie if it is any good will be 8 hours long ;-)

I honestly would love for "Someone Put Your Hand Out" to be included, besides being a beautiful song I think the lyrics are very personal to MJ and could work really well to show the world how he felt inside.

Other than the obvious ones like Billie Jean, Thriller, Black or White, etc, the following songs should be in the biopic.

1) Big Boy
2) ABC
3) I'll Be There
4) Dancing Machine
5) Blues Away (First song that Michael wrote which was released)
6) Shake Your Body To The Ground
7) Heartbreak Hotel
8) Victory (duet with Freddie Mercury. They can finally release that song)
9) Scared of the Moon
10) Someone in the Dark
11) Price of Fame
12) Leave Me Alone
13) Will You Be There
14) Tabloid Junkie
15) Money
16) Childhood
17) Morphine
18) Ghosts
19) Threatened
20) Unbreakable

5 songs that should be in there that can add to the narrative and thus be very emotional or resonant. I don't agree with the entirety of my opening post anymore but in general the feelings still stand.

- Money (obvious reasons, during allegation scenes)
- Will You Be There ( A man should be faithful, And walk when not able, And fight 'til the end, but I'm only human) 😢
- Speechless (during the ending credits, I already feel the chills lol, it is a nice farewell and ode to the fans)
- Music and Me (maybe somewhere early on, it is poignant)
- a surprise de chef, an unheard song with potential?

I do not agree with every choice here, but I agree with a lot of them.

It's literally just an engineer slapping a toilet seat isn't it? Lol

An unheard song and songs that got leaked ("Dream Away", different versions of "Chicago 1945" (one (original) (1982 or 1984)) with a drum machine and an outro and another (1986) with live drums), Seeing Voices).

Why SOTM and SITD. I don’t disagree but why would could they be suitable?
I personally think big boy is redundant, it is just an insignificant footnote, a local radio hit. A scene recreating the Motown audition should be enough. It could be a cool opening scene imo, running over the introduction credits. Maybe they can even clean up the original footage and show that. It’s amazing footage and should be seen by millions of people lol

Someone In The Dark, because I want the biopic to touch on the fact that MJ did the soundtrack album for ET.

Scared of the Moon, because I love the song and I believe that should be room for some random and unknown song in the biopic soundtrack.

Do you think the soundtrack will have songs perfomed by Jaafar?
On the Elvis soundrack there is Austin Butler.

They will 100% go with his biggest hits, but they could use "Remember What I Told You" during the End Credits. It's a small demo that could easily transform into a 2-3 minute tune with the proper production.
They did the same with "This Is It" movie soundtrack.

I want a cute scene with Michael and Brooke going out on a date to a zoo or something. It can be about 5 minutes long, just the two having fun, talking about future plans, family issues, kissing, laughing. The song Girlfriend would be a perfect choice for it, being played completely during that scene.

That's something I would support

Didn't Prince say that they're looking into releasing new music along with the biopic? This could be a reality and I'm all for it.

It's Man in the Mirror for sure. No way it's not.

Otherwise my bet is the original Best of Joy in 2008.

Michael Jackson’s Connection With ‘Man in the Mirror’ & Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
January 15, 2024
Today is the US national holiday honoring civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Michael says his song “Man in the Mirror” brought to his mind Dr. King’s work and a portion of Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream Speech” can be found on Michael’s song “HIStory.”

Will You Be There should be in the biopic. It expresses the loneliness and hope in his life.
